MAN! Adrienne Brohner is like a poor man's PBF right now, but he's still young. I think he is one to watch in the near future. Floyd's camp needs to recruit that dude and make him the next floyd.

Others have said it and maybe I'm a bit partial but it has to be Michigan per capita with Penn. being second.

    Michiagan has:

In addition to the other guys mentioned Michigan also has Kenny Lane (beat Carlos Ortiz and Virgil Atkins, and drew with Curtis Cokes, Ralph Dupas and many say was robbed against Joe Brown)

And Ad Wolgast underrated lightweight champ.

Now I dont know if I can say much for the STATE of Missouri :) But ST LOUIS in particular had a very decent crop of fighters!

Sonny Liston, Michael, Leon, and Corey Spinks, Virgil Akins, Charley Riley!

Michigan, Joe Louis moved to Detroit when he was around 12, Sugar Ray Robinson used to follow Joe Louis and the legendary trainer Eddie Futch around when they trained at the Brewster Rec Center, which still stands today. Michigan has produced some bad boys:

    Joe Louis
    Sugar Ray Robinson
    Thomas Hearns
    James Toney
    Toney Tucker
    Bronco McCart
    Stanley Longstreet
Milton McCrory and his brother Steve McCrory
    Gerald McClellan
    Ricky Womack
    Henry Hank
    Alvin Lewis
The Mayweathers, Floyd Sr.,Floyd Jr., Roger, Jeff
    Oba Carr
    Duane Thomas
    Frank Tate
    Henry Hank
    Jimmy Paul
    Rydell Booker
    Leo Nolan

Quantity Cali blows out everyone although still high quality... Michigan is strong at the top no doubt.... If you go back to the old timers New York might be the best.

Recent Years (last 40 years)Cali got this and mostly because of all the Aztec warrior Chicano champs:yep If you want to compare list Leon lets do this list Michigans top 50 or if you are not that knowledgeabe top 25 and ill list Calis.... And you cant claim Robinson he was raised in NY and learned to box there.

What are we going by, state of birth? Or state where a fighter first learned to box? The latter should matter more, IMO.

Joe Louis, Thomas Hearns, and Sugar Ray Robinson were all born in the South. Louis and Hearns learned to box when they lived in Detroit, so Michigan can claim them. Robinson learned to box when he lived in New York, not Detroit. He only spent a few years in Detroit, as a child, and wasn't boxing then. He's much more of a NY fighter than a Michigan one.

California per capita is still a powerhouse... It would literally be a project for me to dig up all the champs and top tier contenders.. I dont think people here are realizing how many HOFamers and elite fighters there have been from California.. And its not just recently lot of top guys from the 70s too.. Id say the majority from Southern California.
