Which UK commentator/pundit was the best boxer?

    would have put Mcguigan in there but I reckon he would have won easily, so it makes it more interesting without him

    You didn't miss much actually. At the time I was following the British boxers a lot because they were featured on Eurosport wich was the go to channel for boxing at the time. He won a CW title almost by accident, and lost it to a journeyman turned contender (big bodyshot) not much later. I remember being very dissapointed at the time.
    He went up and faced LL, who was completely out of his league.

    Then he fell off my radar.

    For the poll I think Watt. A great boxer doesn't always make a great commentator or a great trainer.

    Watt was very good against the American Olympic Champ who was supposed to be better than Ray Leonard. The kid he fought had great hand speed and combinations so he was the underdog. But Watt would deceptively slide back a couple of inches just as the kid was about to let off his shots, and they'd fall short or the sting would be taken off completely.

    Nicky Piper was better than Glenn McCrory.
