****ing hilarious Dale, You clearly know a lot about him.

 

How anyone can bag Dale Westerman's Boxing/Kickboxing record is beyond me, he fought some of the best fighters out there, Had a successful career. And won numerous titles.

 

Agree Ben - Dale is a great bloke in and out of the ring. Hope he goes well with his shows.

 

I've seen these events being ran before in Ireland, a lof of the time one Gaelic football team might fight another one to raise money for their clubs or a charity.

Both clubs get about 12 volunteers with little or no boxing experience. They both give the organisers about €4,000 each for the 12 weeks training, equipment, contest apparel, costs of ring on the night, ref, judges, MC, corner men/ trainers, ring girls etc etc. They agree a venue and flog the tickets for about €20 each. It's usually a great money spinner and a good night out.

I know a few lads who signed up for it independently too.. they never boxed before, liked the fitness element of it and primarily they liked the idea of the shorter rounds and bigger gloves and were a bit intimidated to go into a boxing gym..

I think it's a good idea and can only be good for the sport

 

What a ridiculous idea, boxing is not a game or an activity for people to dabble in. If you wanna box join a boxing gym and pay your dues. Fatties throwing haymakers at other fatties for 4k is a rip off and will leave everyone watching this pathetic spectacle with the wrong impression of the sport.

 

Ahh, boxing is a sport, and a game, and every one is entitled to participate.
