Pretty simple really, back to the old styles argument.

Hatton and Cotto are both, essentially, pressure fighters with underrated boxing skills.

However, one fights at a much higher pace than the other, and relies more on cumulative power than composite, together with footwork and an ability to cut off the ring.

Ricky was by no means at his best against Paulie, but certainly beat him easier than Cotto did, despite the state of Malignaggi's face in the two bouts.

Hatton vs Cotto is a fight I would love to see, either at 140 or 147.

Don't get me wrong I'm a Hatton fan and was pleased with his showing after teaming up with Mayweather sr.
However it's easier to look good against a one handed fighter.

Paulie himself said that he was more hurt in the Cotto fight

Cotto did more damage, but Malignaggi landed MUCH more on Cotto, even stunning him at a moment and making it close. Hatton hurt him early, but didn't punish him until the last few minutes, when, I believe, he came close to stop him via body punches. The ref/McGirt saved Paulie from a possible clean knockout loss and a few broken ribs. Watch the last round, Hatton was all over him. But as it was stopped, Cotto can say he did the more damage, while Hatton beat him more clearly and convincingly.

    Perhaps he was.

Hatton was more hurt against Collazo and Phillips than he was against Floyd.

    Hatton BROKE Malignaggi.

    Cotto didn't.

    lmao

Cotto has the weirdest way of doing superficial damage to his opponents faces. It's very odd.

What's in his glove lining? Brass knuckles?

On a competitive basis, Hatton beat him better. He only lost one round before the bull**** corner stoppage.

Cotto obviously busted him up worse, because he's more heavy handed and does cleaner work. I suppose the fact Malignaggi bravely scraped rounds against a weight drained sluggish Cotto influenced the corners decision to let him continue, whereas he had no chance in the Hatton fight.

Regardless, he should never have been stopped in that fight. There was nothing wrong with him.

I didn't ask who inflicted more damage, I asked who had the better win, who beat Malignaggi better?
