:good Oscar was winning the fight before the last quarter of the fight. But he stopped being effective.

Agreed! JLC was more phsycial and a more damaging for Floyd but DLH was very intelligent and matched Floyd in almost every category except the speed and reflexes. It was by far Floyd's closest fight from a tatical point of view.

It wasn't a robbery. He gave away too many rounds early.

You're acting like he didn't even win a round in the first 5.

I'm with eze on this one. Mayweather won a very, very close fight but it could have gone either way. Does anyone disagree with the 2nd fight? For me Mayweather fully deserved the win.

he landed more punches he was more accurate, how in hell PBF won that fight? walking around nice? moving backwards?

Please, I enjoy seeing Floyd fight and his outstanding defense, but nobody in his right mind can tell Floyd won the first Castillo fight, you can explain about the shoulder the hands or any other excuse, but he lost to JLC and the judges robbed him a close but clear decision. His defense and talent was not enough that night, that's a fact.

I have yet to hear a mayweather fan credibly explain how floyd won that fight.

    Castillo pressured and pounded floyd.
    AND he was the champion.

You don't beat the champion in that fashion.
We are all boxing fans, and we all know you have to take a guy's title. Not throw less/land less and run.

Some Floyd fans give Floyd rounds for making the other guy miss because "that's sweet science" and they are "true boxing fans".

If he made Castillo miss but Castillo lands a couple of half blocked shots not too flush but Floyd lands pretty much nothing, it's a Castillo round.

I've never understood this whole 'Hoya was winning when he used the jab' thing...I only remember one round where he forced Mayweather back with jabs to the chest, but even that didn't really set up his offence in a great way. Also, Merchant said 'the first jab he threw snapped Mayweather's head back' (paraphrased) but when I watched it back, it looked like the jab didn't even land, and Floyd just jerked his head backwards to avoid it...

I WILL say that the jab looked like it irritated Floyd, at the very least, because it was quick and forced him to retreat sometimes, but I rarely saw it land flush, at least not consistently. If anyone can point me to clips of Hoya's great jabbing work in this fight I'll be grateful.

Another thing is that I think Floyd gets overrated in that match. Sure, he won, but I don't think it was easy. Hoya surprised me in that he ducked/blocked a LOT of Floyd's shots, especially in the early rounds, and I've rarely seen a fighter neutralise Floyd's offence like that. He also roughed him up on the ropes, went to the body, etc. A lot of the time Floyd was rolling the shots or they weren't clean, but the point is that Hoya was winning on workrate again and again. Then, of course, he got tired and Floyd stepped on the gas for a win. Hardly a domination or anything. If a young Hoya had been in there, I wouldn't consider it strange to bet on him to beat Floyd -- he would be so much quicker on his feet, with that sort of bouncy quality on his toes, and his combinations would come faster and his conditioning would be more trusty. Would have been very interesting to see how Floyd would cope.

    I got a simple concept.

    It's somewhat ground breaking.

    This is how Floyd won.

He won more rounds than Castillo.

Scoring is subjective. You know that.

Yep he wasn't hurting Floyd, and Floyd has better connect percentage throughout the fight. But it's Oscar who is bringing the fight to Floyd doing most of the work which makes him look good on the judges.
