Margarito-A. Diaz was actually a fight for the vacant 147. lb WBO belt.

Well for one thing, I disagree with your definition of paper champion. A paper champion is anyone who holds a title but is not that champ of that division.

Secondly. Margarito also won a vacant title. When he fought Diaz to take the title it was vacant
