Who do you rank higher all-time p4p: THOMAS HEARNS or JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ?

Randall had his issues but at his peak he was on a different level to Iran Barkley imo. To me that is obvious. Barkley was dangerous because of his power yes, but he was a rather mediocre boxer who would get badly beaten up by most decent middleweights. Not the case at all with Randall and most 140 pounders.

Randall was equally as dangerous imo,42 kos in 58 wins and being the first to drop Chavez tells you that.

    Seconded.

Chavez's record looks absolutely gaudy in comparison to Hearns, but it's the level of opposition that gives the edge to Hearns.

Hearns had some really nice ass wins on his record, and his losses were pretty gosh darn competitive, though now that I think about it you could probably say the same for Chavez!!!

Barkley would likely be MW champion were he around today.

    That´s something I really doubt.

You think Barkley could beat Wright, Abraham and Pavlik?

Abraham might beat him, he beats the other two, particularly Pavlik.

I'm pleased with the debate on this thread. It is a tough call between these two, and some good arguments have been put forward for both guys. I still narrowly side with Chavez.

What's your opinion of Winky Wright? I'm not asking in relation to a fight with Barkley, just in general. Do you think he is a top 100 p4p OAT fighter? I think of him as the 3rd best lightmiddle ever (after McCallum and Hearns) and rank him approximately in a tier with guys like Mosley, JM Marquez and Tszyu. Thoughts?

Terry Norris is easily above Wright.

Maybe, but that says more about the current crop of middleweights than it does about Iran.

He's a very good fighter, but I think most of the more versatile stylists would beat him. If Norris had his head on straight I'd choose him over Wright, along with the usual suspects like McCallum and Hearns.

Not a top 100 kind of guy.

I disagree. I've never really seen it with Norris, I don't think he was anything special at all.
