dude ggg got a draw then loss, I’ll give him his credit because on my card he won like 4/5 straight rounds that’s very impressive, but he turned around and got whooped in the rematch, Lara had his lower output ever and has never fought the way he did vs Canelo vs anyone else, if you were around at the time of the fight even ppl who scored for Lara had it 50/50 and said Lara ran his ass off due loss a SPLIT DECISION which was indicative of the fight, Trout got dropped and lost and Cotto got beaten up... if we’re being honest it’s really only 2 close fights Lara and GGG I and for me if you scored either fight 7-5 the other way or a draw I wouldn’t argue too much, saying it was a domination is just plan bias and hating like ppl comparing Lara to Mayweather When Floyd landed 209+ punches and set a personal record meanwhile Lara landed 90 and also set a personal low, or acting like GGG who in large portion of the fight early and late wasn’t getting hit with every punch in the book, dude literally the only GGG did better in fight I was have a better gas tank which lead to him having a decent showing in a draw.

As far as bragging nah man we past that looking at undisputed this year while GGG steady fighting nobodies

Credit to Clenelo for being dominant lately and not getting any home cooking. I’ll give him that much.

GGG needs another fight soon. He can’t be too idle at this age.

Scoring aside, how would you rate Canelo's performances vs GGG?

    Solid one to be fair

Numerous professionals with the same view

Yet you profess to have scored it correctly and that Canelo was dominating

In that snapshot of fighters reacting to it, included is Sergio Mora saying "WOW. #CaneloGGG". Sergio Mora in another post said he had Canelo winning. Out of all those fighters reactions in your little screenshot, only a handful of them actually claim the draw was a robbery. One of those claiming that a Canelo win is unfathomable is Paulie Malignaggi who has a well known Canelo envy complex and wouldn't give credit to Canelo if it hit him in the face.

Most of those reactions are to Byrd's scorecard, not the draw. Shields for example while arguing that she thought GGG won more rounds, praised Canelo for holding his ground and said that the fight was "Beautiful" and that both are great fighters. The decision leaving a bad taste in people's mouth, she's obviously referring to Byrd's card or that there wasn't a clear winner, but not denying how close it was. She's saying that she thought GGG won a close fight and was upset by Byrd scoring it so wide, since it was so close and that you had a card who didn't recognize how close it was which is understandable.

"Thomas Williams Jr: All in All boxing fans saw a great fight between two great fighters tonight. #caneloGGG #Canelo"

Well Thomas Williams Jr said it best. He didn't say anything about a robbery now did he. He hash tagged Canelo not GGG. Sounds like he was more impressed with Canelo than GGG.

George Foreman: At the end we had a great fight !I'd like see a rematch. Thanks Champs

Big George seemed content with the scoring and happy with the match.

Manny Pacquiao: Did they bring these judges over from Australia? #CaneloGGG

Pacquiao still had his loss to Horn fresh in his mind - so he's just reacting to more judging controversy and using this opportunity to remind people that he really didn't lose to Jeff Horn and was robbed.

Now granted, there are some claims of robbery in there, Tarver, Mundine, Harrison, Lewis, Enzo but the vast majority of reactions were merely upset at Byrd's card and not the final result or arguing that GGG clearly won. Many praised both fighters for putting on a great fight.

And finally take a look at this Round by Round fan scoring -

    https://www.eyeonthering.com/boxing/gennady-golovkin-vs-saul-alvarez

The average fan card has Canelo winning rounds 1-3 & 10-12 and has GGG winnnig rounds 4-9. That's a draw according to the fans, so if the fans agree that it's a draw then there's nothing delusional about scoring an additional round to Canelo and having him win. Rounds 4-6 were extremely close and neither of these rounds were clear GGG rounds. These rounds were each potential 10-10 rounds if even rounds were allowed. The fact is that GGG won rounds 3-6 on TWO judges scorecards. The fans very clearly had Canelo winning the 3rd round so there should have been no outrage over the verdict of a draw given how the fans who watched it had it a draw. And a draw also did what you and many others argue about the Champion's advantage. GGG did in fact keep his title in a fight that could have gone either way so there's no point complaining. If Canelo won that would be a different story but it wasn't. Even GGG himself conceded "This is Draw" in the postfight.

What you're trying to do though is to act like it was somehow a clear GGG win simply because SOME active fighters cried robbery. That had a lot to do with the compubox numbers which were a controversy in it of itself with Round 5's swapping from Canelo landing more in real-time to GGG landing more after the match. Many fans watching are influenced by compubox numbers and many of those fighters score rounds to fighters who throw more punches which was GGG in the first match. So there's all kinds of reasons why some people would have called it a robbery or were upset by Byrd's card. That isn't the vast majority, the vast majority recognized how close it was and were only upset by Byrd's card, not the final verdict.

My view of the first match is pretty consistent with these fan cards -

    https://www.eyeonthering.com/boxing/gennady-golovkin-vs-saul-alvarez

Canelo won the first 3 rounds clearly and GGG started upping his workrate starting in Round 4. You had several cards there with 10-10 4th, 5th or 6th rounds so obviously some fans were torn on how to score those rounds. Most gave those to GGG, and I wouldn't say that's unreasonable only to point out how close and debatable each of those rounds were. If you have any specific problems with what I'm saying I'm happy to address any concerns or inconsistencies you have but at the end of the day the first match was a very hotly contested contest that can be viewed and interpreted in a number of ways. But we should all be able to agree that neither fighter made it abundantly clear that he won. Even if you think GGG won, or though he should have gotten close rounds because he was the Champ, whatever your argument is, I don't know how you could deny how many close rounds this match had and that there wasn't a clear victor after 12 rounds.

Try responding to my response to iseah10001, post #264, if you dare! I never said that Canelo was dominating, I said he was schooling GGG early on which he was. By outboxing him, making GGG chase, miss and be countered, etc. But GGG started getting into the fight, a little bit in the 4th and more towards the end of the 5th. By rounds 7-9 GGG had his best sustained action, he started to land more with regularity, but that wasn't the case in rounds 1-6 or 10-12.
