Who do you think is the best fighter at 140 right now?

I rate Ortiz, fair enough his heart and will come into question against Maidana, but he's learnt from it and it'll make him a better fighter, like the Prescott defeat for Khan

 

I'm not sure that's true. Paulie got props (unjustifiably) for Cotto beating on him for twelve rounds, but he's fought better. His best win was against N'dou or his rematch against Diaz. And he's an awkward sod to fight because of his style - and Khan did much better than Hatton or Cotto did ultimately.

Also, the belts have nothing to do with superiority in the division. He won the vacant WBC and took the IBF from Urango.

 

I was more impressed with Hatton's win over Malignaggi than Khan's. Hatton fluffed the first round against Malignaggi, but then had control there on after. With Khan v Malignaggi, again Khan only fluffed one round, but he was swinging wildly for the first 6 round's, and a heavier fisted opponent would of probably put him down.

I forgot about N'Dou performance, thank you for reminding me. The Diaz rematch was a farce, to the point where Diaz was actually put on the floor by Malignaggi (if i remember correctly?).

 

I think Ortiz is under-rated. The fact he isn't even an option on the poll is testament to this!

This time next year, i'm sure Ortiz will be all the craze. Funnily enough, I can see the Khan hype only get bigger too (assuming he beats Maidana).

 

Yeah, I'll give you that - Khan's performance against Malignaggi was a bit wild at points, but it was his first appearance on HBO - he probably wanted to blast Paulie out.

 

i thinks hattons win over malignaggi was a tad better than khans. khans was quite marked up after the paulie win

 

True, wanting to make a good impression. Probably had Schaefer in his ear too telling him to look good.

This is what i like, a good discussion without being labelled "racist" when discussing Khan's bad points

 

That's only started as an issue in recent years. When he first appeared I don't remember anybody even caring, but that was just me maybe. Even after September 11 I thought he came across well.

Overall Khan is the best but he still has to take each challenger out one by one to prove hinself starting with Maidana it will be tough:thumbsup

Hatton more or less shut out a younger fresher version of Pauli and stopped him in the same round as Khan, I'm not sure how Khan did 'much better' against the same man. He might have been a little more convincing against a older more shop worn Paulie, but there's not a huge amount in it.
