Lennox isn't bad, he's awful. Waffling nonsense during the fight and STILL awkward in front of the camera pre and post fight. Some men just aren't made for tuxedos. Steward sometimes makes a good point when he discusses a technical element of a fighters game, looking at foot placement, using the jab and the left hook, balance, head movement, etc., but he often locks onto a particular fighter and has them winning whatever else is going on. He always gives credit to fighters though, even if he doesn't like what they do in the ring. I actually think Hopkins has done a great job on The Ring Fight Night events, along with Doug Fischer. When Borges does commentary he's pretty decent too, if fond of hyperbole.
And he always wants fights stopped, almost before they have even started. I bet if he had the choice he would ban boxing.
I think its enevitble there will be bias towards the home fighters but I wish they'd try to analyse what the other guy needs to do or what adjustments they need to make to win. Its always about what the home fighter needs to do. They're not a patch on the American commentators, I've nothing really against any individual but I I think he whole team needs a shake up just to get them out of the comfort zone they all seem to have slipped into with each other.
Bunch of ****ing haters.. in truth you could have anyone commentating and someone would be on here bitching about them. The Haye fight was the one that added fuel to his hate campaign, rightfully so, he was well off with his opinion BUT he was scoring in the way he thought the judges would because of the location. He carry's a lot of cliche's but that's his terminology that he's been brought up with while he built a successful boxing career for himself. He's been there, done it and has an opinion that should be respected
OK... Confession time... I was one of those who fought that Valuev was robbed and even came on here to argue that point. However, having now seen the fight 8 times (yes, I'm a sad sod) on a proper sized television, rather than the small screen on a computer, I can safely say that Watt's scoring of that fight was disgraceful. I have an excuse for my initial scoring but he was there for **** sake :roll:
I like Tarver, actually. He knows his stuff and is very good at pointing out the elements that affect a fight in the long term. BJ Flores was pretty good too on the Wlad-Chagaev fight.

1 + 2) I was watching the fight on a screen that was about as big as the reply screen I am now typing into. The picture quality left a lot to be desired. (Read between the lines) My scorecard was due to my inability to see excatly what Haye was doing, Watt has no excuse... 3) If I know that I was initially wrong why should I not acknowledge it?
1+2) still sounds like a **** excuse... 3) nothing wrong with it, I'm sure Watt would probably admit he was wrong about his scoring at the time as well. My issue is that you have jumped from 2 extremes just so you could join in with the Watt hate. Surely you, out of anyone, after somehow managing to score Valuev as a winner should understand that!!

I used to like Watt but he's been pissing me off a lot lately. He doesn't call the fight, he just rambles on about the same **** like a broken record. If fighter A is winning the fight, then even if fighter B lands a good punch, he won't acknowledge it. He thinks the fight is over. Maybe it is but at least give the other fighter a chance to come back instead of writing him off after one knockdown. He also loves to remind everyone how he predicted what would happen. Yes UK commentators are biased and its annoying but try listening to the channel 9 team commentate on cricket when the Aussies are playing. You can't get any more blatantly biased than that. Aussies make George Bush sound intelligient. Michael Slater is the worst one of the lot. "Aww look over there Healy, look how good Watto's hair looks he's a handsome fella aint he?, I wish he'd poke me up the arse mate" Healy: "Aww look me too mate, but look at the way Warney shines the ball, I wish he'd shine my balls like that" Slater: "mate Shane Warne was a God, I heard he's slept with over 150 women" Healy: "really? aww how awesome is that mate, that's like one for every day of the year" Anyway back on topic, I've only just realised that Jim Watt isn't that great a commentator. He might be almost as bad as Andy Gray.
