Wrong again. Schmeling was one of if not the hardest right hand puncher in boxing during the late 20's to 30's. Louis absorbed dozens of his right hands on the button before succumbing in 12 rounds. The ability to take those punches shows Louis had a good chin. Otherwise the bout would have been over in round four.

Louis was hit with many a devestating blow by large men and he typically koed these opponents. Boxing has little to do with size in the hwt division. Once I hear you speak of size I can see immediately you are a rank amateur. Knowledgeable boxing fans speak of ability not size. WWE and MMA types, not very smart individuals, emphasize the points that are very visible......the easy stuff.

 

why is it a fact that a 200lb man hitting a 240 lb man on the chin cannot cause damage?

Surely the only fact is that HE CAN cause damage. Or else Eric Esh would have been ATG number 1.

 

1-schmeling was not a 200 pounder, weighed 190

2- even if he weighed 200 pounds it is not the point, he did not hit hard enough, this one is the point.

3- butterbean was a pig, artificial weight of fat does not make you more powerfull, absurd argument.

4- of course that the NATURAL size and weight is one of the factors in the power department, deal with it.

 

In the Galento fight Louis could have taken him out early but since Galento had been very disrespectful Louis wanted to keep him in and give him a good beating before he took him out in the 10th round. Had Louis gone after him without this intent it would have been an early ko for the brown bomber.

You make Norton's chin sound like it's poor. Norton went 50+ rounds with Ali and Holmes quite comfortably among others. Ali ko'd Foreman among many many others. He couldn't KO Norton.
