Who has a better defence between Canelo and Martinez?

They both can box and fight. They both move their heads a lot to avoid being hit. They both have great visions.

 

Martinez, because he hits you as soon as you make a mistake
Canelo waits too long

Id say their defense is equal though
Martinez mostly relies on his reflexes to move his head back in time
Alvarez has good and fast head movement but its mostly when hes standing still
They both have good defense but they can both be hit if you throw more than 1 punch

Canelo easily.
For the most part canelo will eat a jab to lure you in counter you with heavy combination punching.

Martinez eats jabs because he can't slip them, Barker and Macklin were controlling him and leaving him anxious with the jab alone.

 

Martines of course..Canelo got hit alot for much smaller opponents, he have not footwork..Martinez have a decent footwork and ring IQ which help him alot his defence..

 

My question is why is Canelo in the same sentence with the ATG SERGIO MARAVILLA MARTINEZ......Martinez is the ****ing gold standard,,,,,,,he is superior in every facet of boxing

So, right now... maybe Martinez... but in a year or two? Definitely Canelo.

 

Canelo .. he can block , parry , slip , counter , use his feet. He's a complete fighter. Martinez is a one trick pony. His defense is his movement .

 

yeah bro..I never seen a more undeserved hype..this kind was super tired against the ropes with a guy who was throwing punches to the air and very soft punches..this kid can't compete against any top JMW..this hype is crazy..I m praying for they match him against Lara for Lara delay that hype train but Lara is.#1 contender for ages now and they never match him against the cinnamon kid..even when Lara rapex paul Williams they tried to match Canelo with William not the one who beat him and when Molina beat Cintron they match Canelo with Cintron not Molina..whoever with a little boxing unknowledge knows that Canelo is not and will never be and elite fighter cuz he is not gifted..he have not footwork, he gas out after the first 30 second of every round, no stamina and no workrate..period..the only thing he have is that he is Mexican but skills..nah..

Martinez athleticism helps him with his defense. But if you watch him in a lot of his fights with PWill, he gets hit a lot. I mean flush.
