Probably because Dempsey was hitting him the ***** so often but Dempsey's New York roomate and ref, Daugherty, chose to look the other way.

Gibbons showed writers his groin the next day (!) and it was covered in bruises.

Examination of Sharkey after the fight showed no signs of low blows. More made up BS from the ESB fool. Can you be any more obvious in what you do on here? Who do you think you are fooling?

Thought experiment: If Foreman put on 4-ounce gloves and went back in time and fought Dempsey's opponents, how many of them survive more than one or two rounds?

Read the post and read Moyle's book on Miske. GIBBONS, NOT SHARKEY, showed his groin area to two writers the day following the bout and it was nothing but bruises. My post was in response to a question about GIBBONS NOT SHARKEY.

    Are you f*cking simple?

Foreman would KO most of Dempsey's opponents with 16 oz gloves on.

Foreman for me has consistently displayed the most raw power of any heavyweight I have seen. Only a fool could possibly question the earth-moving force of his blows.

I think guys like Louis, Tyson, Lewis, Wlad and Dempsey were better overall punchers-better technique, more snap, often more leverage, but for heavy-handed clubbing type power, I have not seen George's equal.

I think Liston runs him close, indeed I think Sonny was a mixture of the two kinds of puncher; both heavy handed and correct at the same time!

What's the evidence that Foreman was the harder puncher that makes it so "easy" and "obvious" ?

really? tell me how many guys survived with foreman( even when he was 40 and older) and how many guys survived with dempsey?( even with the old rules when he did not have to go to the corner and the gloves were smaller and he fought worse rivals). foreman would have killed people with these gloves

:rofl this one is the stupid who said that sonny liston did hit hrder than foreman, despite foreman fought in his 40s, his % ko is much better, despite foreman stopped faster his rival in common and fought bigger better men than liston did, and despite that every journalist who saw them in sparring sessions and hitting the heavy bag said that foreman did hit harder.

Foreman is the correct answer. Foreman, Dempsey, Louis, Frazier, Tyson, Shavers, Marciano etc all hit hard enough that it is academic.
