I'm also a big basketball fan and I can't stand when a player "flops" to try to get a foul called against another player. Just because it's part of the sport doesn't mean I should like it. It's the same thing in boxing. Just because clinching is part of the sport doesn't mean I should automatically like it. Clinching stops action which to me is unsettling for the most part and the intent is it to hinder your opponent's rhythm or to take a quick break. It's not aesthetically pleasing to watch especially when it's done to the extent that Hatton does it.

That is boxing. There are ways that someone who is busy can neutralize the punching and holding. Hagler tried with Leonard to keep punching with the free hand since Leonard could not keep both of Hagler's arms tied up, but Hagler did not do enough damage. When Hearns held both of Leonard's arms in 1989 in the rematch, Leonard put his gloves on Hearns face and did a lacing, which is common of Ray and his poor sportsmanship. There are ways to neutralize punch and hold, but not always if the guy doing it is quick. Punch and hold is a great technique in boxing. That makes the sport fascinating if a guy knows how to do that and not get hit. I do not hate it at all. I think it is something in boxing which works like sticking and moving. Everyone wants a brawl, but in boxing things like this make the sport hard to predict. The style matchups.

when you know that most boxers learn and practice holding in the gym we can say we got a problem, Referee need to respect this rule or change it but please make the rule clear because right now every referee interpetrate it there own way!
