Purely for money, but it will be entertaining nonetheless.

Mayorga might **** around and hit Shane with some bull****. I don't think this fight is as one-sided as many of you are thinking.

Mosley was actually supposed to fight Judah instead but Judah's injury called the fight off and Mayorga is the immediate replacement. Judah wants a come-back after his loss and Judah(now Mayorga) aren't that bad especially for a guy who is past it anyway.

Mosley also said he wants Margarito after this fight so we know his intentions as they usually are.

At some point Mayorga stopped beeing serious about his career. Or he was insane enough to believe he could compete @160, i dont know. He would have been a threat @146 for everyone, but Tito basically ruined him. His chin is also not what it once was. So he is basically done. Prime Mayorga would be a threat to Mosley cause of style, power and chin alone , but the 2008 version is not.

I agree that Mayo has a better chance than many suppose him to have. He came out strong against Vargas and he should be able to test Shane physically if the fight doesn't get too technical. Normally when there is a huge disparity in ability between two boxers such as it is in this case, it's up to the better boxer to outbox his opponent and not slug it out... Happens that Shane has a tendency to use handspeed and good accuracy but bang all the same.

Are we forgetting Mosley just lost a razor-thin decision to Cotto, in a bout MANY thought Mosley won?

Mosley is not shot. That is simply laughable.

mayorga spanked shane's father, vernon 'ricardito' forrest, like a man spanks a child.

in all honesty i like both guys, so i'm pretty torn on who i want to win. i kinda like mayorga to end his career with a win over an ATG. would have been a great fight 5-4 years ago when it was talked about.

It was after his "loss" to Spinks. I think after believing he got shafted on that decision (and I think he did, too, for what it's worth) he lost his desire, but even before that, Mayorga was always inconsistent.

Mayorga has went the distance with both Spinks and Forrest, and Andrew Lewis, all skillful boxers. And Shane has an unlike GBP tendency to bang. Watch for a rejuvenated lighter Mayorga to force both the action and a Pier Six Brawl for the entire night.

It's true after the Spinks loss which for the record he didnt lose,he was suppose to be the undisputed 147 champ, after that he was not serious to the sport, didnt train like he should,he got drunk many times in Nicaragua, was accused of a ****,but(noy like Zab) he never lost his heart.Shane will have to work to beat him

It must be awfully difficult to stick to your boxing game plan when you're as entertaining as Shane and your opponent is a steet bum like Mayorga. I mean, how much can Shane take? He took Zab Judah in a presser saying that he would end Shane's career like Hops did to Joppy ( actually didn't) and now he has to hear Ricardo say that he should wear pink gloves to match his pink trunks and green eyes girly looks and run around the ring? And Shane smiles at him... I officially demand Shane Mosley for the Nobel for Peace and Mayorga for the the most irritating clowning act prize.

Shane will bust up Mayorgas face. I doubt Mayorga will put his chin out there to give Shane a free shot like he said he would at the presser, where he called Shane his " little green eyed girlfriend". LOL.
I look for Shane to lay a beating on Mayorga. and yes it's just a money fight.

The fight like many is a few years to late. The fight was going to happen when Mayorga was the Undisputed Champion a few years ago. But, Spinks spoiled the fight. Hopefully, Mosley wins so we see him against an top fighter at welterweight.
