We don't know who is the best, they need to fight each other. I suspect it's not Cotto, even if he is an ATG at other weights.:rofl
Cotto is the real champion of the middleweight divison. Golovkin is the best middleweight fighter in the world.
Now we just have to wait and see if Roach himself thinks Cotto can beat Golovkin. All Roach and Cotto have to do is say the word and Golovkin will take the fight. We all know the fight would be a huge sell-out. If the fight doesn't happen, we'll know that Roach and Cotto didn't want it.
haha...man i really cant believe that dude is still around and winning straps ...i remember going to see him fight winky at foxwoods like 9 years ago.......i think winky was sick going into that fight and wanted to pull out but didnt.....soliman gave a pretty good account of himself that night though....crazy to think this guy is still around and still winning
Thanks for the heads-up! Roach says he has never seen Golovkin fight, but even if that's true (and I seriously doubt it) the only reason he's saying it is to say that Golovkin isn't a big enough star for Cotto to want to fight him. For the rest of the interview Roach tries to call out Floyd, saying he has the blueprint and that Floyd is afraid of Cotto, etc. I think that's the fight Roach and Cotto really want: one where Cotto doesn't risk getting seriously hurt.
I think you are pretty biased if you voted Cotto. GGG is undefeated and a KO machine while fighting to good fighters. Cotto is indeed 1-0 against the top guy, but then again the top guy was floored in his last 3 fights and his first time fighting in over a year. We don't really know where Martinez stood.
