Cotto is the Middle weight king, GGG is probably the best although a healthy Pirog ( if he ever fully recovers could be up there as the best.)

Good thread....I think GGG is the most dangerous and chocolate cuban the most physically gifted. Everyone falls under those two though Cotto is the most accomplished, well rounded fighter of the lot...he's also the lineal champ and while severly undersized would give anyone one of those dudes a run. TBH I think GGG would be the only guy that beats Cotto from the list.

I'm willing to concede it is now Golovkin.
I was holding out hope Sergio wasn't as bad off as he was, but he is.

Cotto beat a shadow of the old Maravilla, and I'm not convinced he wasn't on PED's the other night.

So Cotto was possibly on roids, concussed Sergio in round 1, and Sergio could barely punch without his legs going, and Cotto still could not officially knock him out.

Cotto isn't better Sergio was worse.
    Golovkin destroys Cotto.

Golovkin sparred Chavez Jr and Quillin at the Wild Card gym.
Freddie Roach picked Golovkin to spar with Chavez Jr.
Roach knows who GGG is and he knows what GGG would do to Cotto.

Cotto telling everyone that it's up to Freddie who he fights next and Freddie puh-puh-playing duh-duh-dumb about GGG should tell you all you need to know about that fight ever being made.

The fact that everyone is talking about Cotto v Canelo should tell you all you need to know about who most people consider the best middleweight.

    Golovkin :good

Even though I still think GGG is overhyped, I'm in total agreement with you on this one.

Cotto. To my mind, GGG has to actually beat Cotto to prove he's better. GGG can be outboxed by Cotto and Cotto has power and great footwork. It's not enough that people just think GGG can beat him.

    Cotto is the MW King.

Golovkin would, in my opinion, beat him, and is the highest qualified challenger to him.

I don't know who to vote for by definition, so I won't...

GGG probably is, but Cotto has the biggest win.
GGG vs. Cotto to settle would be great.
However there is a camp that says ggg is too big for cotto, so that fight may not happen due to that reason?
