Not too up on Chocolate who I see as one of the two stand out names. All I know is he got tarred by Canzoneri. Granted Canzoneri is probably the best opponent any of those men fought. You'll need someone from Classic (probably the cobra, El Buija, BE or McGrain) to make the argument for Kid Chocolate because I've barely looked at the guy other than some brief background reading.

I'll kick with Oscar. Then probably Rocky, then Lewis, then Trinidad, then Tszyu.

Nice thought provoking mix.I assume you mean who was the best as opposed to who had the best boxing ability, and I only know the basic history regarding pre-80's fighters so I pick Lewis here, but it's very close and changeable.

    De La Hoya

  12. Tough question.

De la Hoya or Lewis probably... but I would need to see video of Kid Chocolate.

Oscar De La Hoya had the greatest Boxing ability of anybody on that list.

Oscar on his toes, showing that sort of latin fluidity, pumping out a left jab, using his feet and lateral movement to provide angles.

It's DLH by a clear margin for me.

The first Chocolate/Canzoneri fight is available on Youtube. Genuinely one of my favourite fights. I had Chocolate narrowly winning, as did quite a few I've spoken with. About as high quality a match as you're likely to see.

Chocolate probably would be my top choice, incidentally. Either him or Rocky.
