Who Is The More Complete Fighter - Kessler Or Pavlik?

Kessler or Pavlik? More complete fighter.

they're both equally as limited to me, if you take away kesslers one-two and take him out of his comfort zone you got him, if you can counter-punch and utilize good angles against pavlik you got him. its been shown that kessler and pavlik can lose to anyone that is fast and elusive.

 

Undecided. Both lost recently to dirty fighters - although Hopkins fought clean in that fight and owned Pavlik lock, stock and barrels!

 

"dirty fighters." Anything besides that make Andre Ward and Bernard Hopkins otherwise different?

They're both limited. But I'd be more afraid of Pavlis jab then Kesslers. and his right hand is meaner. Also I've see Pavlik throw punches in bunches. Something Kessler struggles with. Also Pavliks power is greater. Kessler probably has better counter punchingm, but Pavlik blocks punches better with his gloves.

 

Kessler was very limited and one dimensional as hell against Ward.

 

There is absolutely no question, here, that Pavlik has the more diversified and dynamic offense arsenal and blatantly more apparent blocking skills. The tapes have never said anything otherwise. Pavlik has always punched his way in. Kessler has always jumped in and out. Pavlik is a lumbering mummy compared to Kessler. He's never been able to cheat with footspeed and/or athleticism. He's made up for that with superior technique and application skills.

 

uhhhh...a bit of hyperbole but I agree Pav is a more rounded fighter than Kessler...neither of them can throw a friggin body punch though

 

If Pavlik didn't get a weird ass X-Files infection on a weekly basis, maybe Pavlik. But since Kessler actually fights, Kessler.

Of course. How could any of us forget? Aside from the standard "I like this fighter better than that fighter" e-forum type reasoning for these threads, we have to factor in the other exotic reasons people will discount physical reality. I would switch my vote if I could.

 

No. I still see Eubank as overrated. Ward could very well prove to be better than Eubank ever was. However, as limited as Kess seems vs movement... I'd have to favor Chris.

 

Pavlik can deal with adversity. Kessler clearly cannot. Kessler needs the fight to go according to plan and if it does not he is in for a long night.
