Yes, and keep in mind that Foreman didn't come right back and BOOM, challenge for the title.....George fought his way up for quite some time. Granted, George was out longer, but he slowly took his time, working his way back to the top level. Vitali took no warmup, whatsoever, after four years and two or three surgeries........and proceeded to annilate the champion. :good
Probably Herbie Hide or Corrie Sanders. Ok Sanders doesn't have the resume Peter has but Sanders put up the better fight. Plus that fight was for the WBC/Ring title. It's hard to compare the post-Lennox run (Sanders, Johnson, Williams) with his post-comeback run....I guess I tend to look at the post-Lennox run as Vitali's prime but Vitali may well be an even better boxer now. Indeed it's a shame Vitali never got the rematch against Byrd or a fight against Brewster. I think he would have dominated either one and it would silence alot of the criticism re Vitali's resume. I'll go with Corrie Sanders as Vitali's biggest win--a great fight, a title fight, and a day of revenge.
Nothing wrong with what I said above. Solis One of the best ameuters the sport has ever seen, going into the fight unbeaten, destroyed in 1 round. Arreola Undefeated south paw KO master, smashed and crushed in every round, left in tears in the end, Vitali bullied this chap like he was in a school yard. Gomez Long standing CW king, probably one of the 3 best cw ever, moved up to heavy and also built up a good run taking out decent opposition, lost every round to Vitali then brutually ko'd in the 9th. Peter The favourite going into his fight with Vitali, seen by some as the new George Foreman after ending the last great hope for the anglosphere in Jame Tony, putting him away twice, the second with amazing ease. Toally destroyed by Vitali, lost ever round, the king has returned. Sanders Coming of his win over an ATG Sanders threw the kitchen sink at Vitali, but to no avail, flattened in the 8th round. Hide Long standing World champion, I believe Vitali was something like a 6/1 shot going into this fight, BOOM! Vitali blasted him out in 2 rounds, almost murdering poor Hide in the process. It's time you let go of your hate for this great champion, you really shouldn't be such a bigot, it's time you give some credit to great fighters outside of the anglosphere. Bigotry has no place in boxing.

I dont know if you realise it but that just makes George's comeback sound loads better than Vitali's. He also fought a lot better fighters after his return than VK did.
