My favourite boxer of all time is Mark DeMori lol not!!!!! the imposter who fights nobodies and wins over the crowd in Oz who know **** all about boxing and get taken in by his hype
Dib v Driscol over 20 rounds and Jim wasn't allowed to knock Billy out would be an interesting affair ,
roy jones junior , thommy hearns, more recently ive become a massive fan of juan manuel marquez, never really received as much recognition as morales and barrera, seems to be such a humble yet competitive guy, and i love watching him fight , his style just looks so good to me.
Wasn't until Joe actually fought outside the uk that he gained any real exposure in aust but u wldnt know that
i would also have to say jeff fenech. he was an unbelieveable fighter to watch. never a dull moment. and he never quit trying. even when it was over, jeff still had a fighters heart. but right up till fenech nelson 1, when jeff murdered nelson and only the bell saved azumah, fenech was a legend of the ring........and actually has been judged by his peers as one. in the hall of fame. i was present at the payakaroon fight, and the zaragoza fight. wow. fenech was electric. our boxing team went to coffs harbour 'annuka' beach resort, where fenech was training for his fight with callegas. adam fogerty was there also. my sparring partner sparred with fogerty, i wasnt allowed to spar fenech, as i had stitches in my mouth from some wisdom teeth removed. i still wanted to though. i knew it was something id remember for the rest of my life. anyway, being so close to jeff and watching him spar, gave me an insight into his talent. he threw 3 perfect right crosses, while moving forward, as quick as three jabs. his feet were a blur. he'd moved his feet quicker than his hands to get on balance to throw those shots....****en unbelieveable. you try it on the bag. you cant. he did it chasing a bloke. bang, bang, bang. brian williams i think he was sparring. we'll never see another fenech from aus in our lifetimes, such was his talent.
