Mundine has wasted his skills and his chance at the big time, he is old and done. Yes he will beat most of the best aussies in his class, but i think his chance has slipped away. And im no fan of his, he is a stupid trouble maker and far from a role model.
The only mate of mine who is a Mundine fan is a big fan of the underdog in any event. He always goes for the less popular team/opponent, or one with the least chance, mainly because he always hopes to get a big win at the TAB and also to create sides so he can argue with the rest of us - he loves an argument, so he does.
I know in the first 15 to 20 fights Mundine had 90% of people showing up to see him get KO'ed.....at least in Queensland pubs and clubs. Funny but after his beating by Kessler I think Mundine got more fans....maybe 30% extra. Now he is pissing everybody off by fighting top 80 to 100's instead of top 4 to 15. Now 90% of people want to see him get KTFO again. I just want him to fight real top 15 fighters.
Thats exactly all we ask. Fight legitimate contenders, not these Argentine bums or guys 6 years past their best.
It maybe a bit much to ask for however I would love to se Mundine VS Sartison....this guy is ranked high but Mundine will win. However I think we will be lucky to see any of the following Mundine VS Sanavia, Larsen, Andrade, Bozic....I wish.
It will be interesting to see who he has lined up next. Maybe the WBA will force the mandatory? A Kessler fight is the only reasonable rematch he should consider at this stage. We know he's at the top of the crop as far as Aussie fighters are concerned, but I agree his chances on the world stage are slipping faster now that he's 32 and a couple of bad injuries in the past year.
