Nobody doubts Tyson's power, but some people have the idea that his raw power was far and away better than anyone else's. He hit hard, and we can only guess, but if you compare him to a guy like Tua, his knockouts are not as final.
alright smart guy, i'll leave the caps lock off for this post. you are right, his pure power tends to get overrated. it was a combination of power, speed and accuracy that did it for him. but i don't think bruno or ruddock are in his league. tua is for sure, shavers, foreman, baer are likely ahead of him. i'd say louis but i just have trouble placing him

Indeed. Difference between Tyson's KO's and Tua's is that Tyson's opponents usally got up a few times before they were finally put out. When Tua's opponent's go down they usually stay down and are put to sleep. :dead
Wladimir Klitschko hits harder than Rahman, with either hand. Tua might have a more powerful left hook than Wlad but Wlad's right hand is a bigger punch IMO.
ruskull i like ya man, and normally we're on the same page but i have to give the nod just by a ****ing hair to tua's hook. i've seen that thing level mother****ers of every size, in almost every round. wlad's right is great but when it lands clean, people can get up. when tua's left lands clean, it's ova!!!!
really, there should have been a test made from years bygone. doesn't even matter how flawed, as long as it is consistently used by all fighters from then until today. then we would have been able to compare power relatively against the greats of past until today. even if new technology comes up with a better test, the old results could be adjusted the same way EPA adjusted the mileage of cars from the old testing to the new test.
Calvin Brock didn't get up from that right hand that Waldo threw. Supposedly, Chuck liddell has 1200 psi also.
