Then he was P4P#2. But he was highly regarded, and he was the reigning WW champion in a great WW Era.

DLH was actually # 1 at the time (following Roy's 'loss' to Griffin).

In reality, Roy was the best fighter at the time though.

Even though on the slide, the Whitaker that faced DLH is a level up on any fighter Mayweather has ever faced though.

When Floyd got down on his soft knees and cried after giving Gatti that azz whooping, it was super emotional.

Floyd never had a PPV before and he did 300,000.

In fact Floyd's biggest PPV PRIOR TO OSCAR was 300,000.

I don't think made in hell Karmazin was ranked #1 at that point. I know Spinks wasn't.

Oscar was in top 10 p4p when he signed to fight Floyd. Plus i am pretty sure he was rated num1 at 154.

How can a guy be P4P when he was basically 1-2in his last 3?

Oscar wasn't ranked in the top 10 P4P but he was #1 ranked at 154 after his KO win over Mayorga.

No old tricks to see. An overwhelming majority of viewers scored the fight for Oscar. I characterize Whitaker as "still game" because as a fighter he was much more capable than Oscar was at 154 P4P. And Whitaker ranks higher than Oscar himself. Oscar's best prime victims were better than Floyd's best prime victims, and his best past-it victims were better than Floyd's best past-it victims.

Same reason why JMM is always in top 10 whether if he loses or not. Oscar losing to Bhop didn't really hurt his status for he is challenging a bigger guy.
