Why does multi weight have to count ??Its called P4P thats how fighters were judged p4p wise its always been this way ..Not what have you done for me lately ! Opposition is one key component but not the what ranks these fighters ..If it were just about comp Floyd wouldn't be ranked so high then ..
Haye, reasonably clearly, due to beating better competition. Names on Pavlik's resume: Zuniga, Zertuche, Miranda. Fragomeni's equivalent to any of those. And then you have Taylor. Wins against Hopkins are impressive on paper, but hasn't proved since that point that it meant anything other than he has a good style to squeak victories against Hopkins. Knocking out Mormeck in Paris is very much more impressive. Plus then a knockout of another CW beltholder in Maccarinelli. Haye's now stepping it up and challenging himself in a higher weight, while Pavlik is fiddling around fighting WBO mandatories against someone that most people would struggle to put in the top 20 at the weight. Pavlik should be looking for Abraham asap, then get himself to SMW where all the action's going to be.
Exactly. Anyone who ranks Haye higher than Pavlik right now is deluded. Are we also going to bring up protected Enzo? Smith needs to get a brain check and then log off. Maybe I shouldn't have said "miles ahead" for Pavliks resume, but it is CLEARLY ahead of Hayes at the moment. Top ten competition is probably in favor for Pavlik by a half dozen. Nice try Smith :hi:
You clearly don't follow boxing, do you? Miranda stacks up better p4p than anyone on Hayes record. And don't even think about bringing up protected Enzo. Thats not even mentioning other greats wins against top ten opponents for Pavlik such as Taylor (X2), McCart, Zuniga, Zertuche, etc. I have Pavlik at #10 on my p4p list right now and I believe Haye is #17 for me. Haye IS NOT ahead of Pavlik p4p right now and won't be for a while imo
What the hell have you been smoking today? He ain't even fought half a dozen top 10 fighters. Pavlik's resume is **** outside of Taylor. Miranda who hasn't done a thing to get all this acclaim, infact its mostly Pavlik huggers that boost him because they are short of ideas. Don't confuse marketable and exciting with good. Good wins over the fraudulent Taylor How that can be CLEARLY better than knocking out the man in his own backyard, and another win over a highly rated contender, blasting him out in 2 There is obviously nothing CLEAR about it, a case can be made either way.
So shall we now grade p4p competition based off of "guys moving up in weight"? Pavlik will surely fight Abraham next (given he makes it past Miranda). Why should Pavlik rush to move up when he still has legacy to create at 160? Doesn't make any sense.....he is doing the right thing by clearing out his division and then will probably move up
I still rate Pavliks competition as better, either way and its clear cut imo that Pavlik deserves at least a few notches up the list over Haye (like I said "right now" anyways). When doing p4p lists I take into account who in their division could potentially beat the guy in question. Haye is now an unproven heavyweight while Pavlik is completely clearing out 160.
see you are saying pavlik is completely clearing out the 160 division,but is he really? since becoming champ he is only due to fight a guy who is not even a top10,he has plans to box abraham but it isn't a foregone conclusion,im speaking of haye at cruiserweight also who achieved much more in a much shorter period and fought more contenders,how can you state that pavlik is clearing out the 160 division when he arguably hasn't even began?there is noone at cw who could beat haye,while personally i can only see wlad and possibly(slightly) peter beating im at hw. i can see abraham giving pavlik fits at mw while i think mundine,kessler and bute would beat him at 168,now if we are going to discuss the weight differential we must also place pavlik up at 175 where i can't see him even being a consistent top5.
