Halling is like listening to Kate Bush. Awful. Shouldn't he just stick to the boxing they used to show at like 4am on Ch5? Or is it 4?

And the first thing Sky Sports should be doing is sending Jim Watt his P45.

I'm sure he could find some scoring work over in the US for HBO. The man chats more bull**** and is more one sided than Jim Lampley. The one thing he doesnt do is sound effects. "Bang! Bang! Bang, here I come! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Sky's boxing team is just awful. Halling, Nelson, Piper, Smith, Watt, Clark, Mcrory.

They take cheesy to new levels.

And that f*cking MC, "ITS FIGHT NIGHT LIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

Stick to the darts mate! :good

Ian Darke on his own, no need for two commentators as it just encourages mind numbing chitchat.

They should go out looking for new talent. It's not like there are plenty of people studying broadcasting out there with an interest in sports. Box Nation have shown there are plenty of fighters with good insight (Smith, Macca) and Jamie Moore and Darren Barker have both added some colour to Sky's broadcasts.

Why not mix it up and go for a younger demographic?

I thought Jon Thaxton was good when he did a few broadcasts for ITV. Jamie Moore isn't too bad either, I agree with getting younger guys in.

  9. Me, I actually went for an interview for the chance to be a member of the sky commentary team, but my lack of experience was my downfall.

They are all embarassing and seem to be there as they are part of the in group that is involved in all the big shows etc

They need someone to direct the flow of the fight while installing drama where deserved and someone to provide insightful knowledge. They are incompetent at both.

For starters their team is very very dated but they were never any good to begin with. I dont' mind a dated team like HBO when they've been churning out great nights for years.

I don't know the market well enough to say who should direct the flow but I'm sure there is someone out there who is a big fight fan and good at their job. Meanwhile it is time to look to a national treasure like Benn or Eubank. Someone who has seen it all but can talk so not Lewis, Calzaghe or other mind numbingly boring fighters. OR go to America and pick someone up. I enjoy Bernstein on C5 and Larry Merchant would be a huge signing.
