Talking of the Super Bantamweight division, I'd like to see IBF champ Takalani Ndlovu defend against either Teon Kennedy or Christopher Martin. They're ranked 3 and 5 in the division respectively, both unbeaten and both hold a win over a more hyped unbeaten fighter (Kennedy beat Jorge Diaz, Martin beat Chris Avalos), and both hungry for big fights. I think it's a winnable fight for the pair of them, Ndlovu is solid but he'd never been top class and he wasn't exactly dominant against a shot Molitor, so while the 2 prospects are still somewhat inexperienced, they have both shown the skills required to beat Ndlovu if given a chance. Teon Kennedy would almost certainly go to war with him too, so there's a potential FOTY candidate if it get's made.
I'd give anyone in the top 20-30 a chance at dethroning Ndlovu. The dude's average. He lost to a shot Molitor, and only scraped past an even shotterererer Molitor. That said, Kennedy isn't particularly good.
Kennedy likes his wars, so he'd have to be careful against Ndlovu who's a pretty tough, very seasoned fighter who's been through some battles himself. I think it would be advised for Kennedy to box abit in this one, that's Takalani's weakpoint in anything. Christopher Martin can box abit though, I thought he comfortably beat Avalos, and he's arguably more disciplined than Kennedy (but the speed, cheen and heart all go to Teon) so I might just favour Martin to beat Ndlovu above Teon. It's very close though :think
Ndlovu isn't a world class fighter, and almost all of the divisions top fighters would beat him, but I'm talking guys who he could realistically face in the near future, being ranked highly by the IBF at Super Bantam.
It's certainly feasible BA. Takalani's there for the taking to be honest. The fact that he's won a title when past prime, when his prime was pretty ordinary anyways, is quite a feat. Though Molitor probably thought no matter how shot he was he could keep going back to defend against Ndlovu.
I dont rate Ndlovu very high either tbh, he caught Molitor at just the right time in his career, when Molitor had slipped a lot. Kennedy and Martin are not great, but both have a bit of talent. Ndlovu is nothing special also. If they show up prepared they could win the fight. The Munroe Ndlovu fight is a 50/50 for me.
Ideally, someone, y'know, good like Maestrito could come along and easily dispose of Ndlovu. He may be past his best a bit, but he gave a more than decent account of himself against Rigo. He's still one of the division's premier fighters IMO, just has to get active.
Cordoba would beat Ndlovu and beat him clearly. I doubt Ndlovu would take him on any time soon though. Cordoba is going to have to work his way back first, and the longer he stays inactive the harder it will be to work his way into a world title fight.
