Who should have won: Korobov or Charlo?

it has always been this way.

 

It's been an especially bad few years.

 

I never liked Korobov ,I just don’t think he’s good ,in other words he is just like charlos, but a bit better and if you think that stiff load-mouth idiot won the fight you need your head checked, or YDKSAB.

 

No he didn’t, it wasn’t even remotely close. Korobov schooled him

 

I thought it was close and there were alot of close rounds. I had Charlo up a little, but had it gone the other way I wouldn't have cried foul. Let's see a rematch soonest. It was a good fight fought at a pretty high level of skill and ability, I thought.

I thought Korobov won, I don't recall what my card was.

 

I can practically guaranteed that the people who believe Charlo won this fight are the same who believe that Wilder beat Fury, Matthysse took a dive Vs Pacquiao, Canelo beat GGG in their first fight, Horn beat Pacquiao, Ward beat Kovalev in their first fight etc.

 

I'm no great fan of Charlo but I agree. There were some close-ish rounds but I think you'd have to have a bias for Korobov to have him the winner.

 

I had Charlo winning. Not hugely but I thought he did enough in enough rounds. The late rounds got Charlo over the line.

I had it 116-112 for Korobov, maybe 115-112 if you scored the last round a 10-8 for Charlo.

With hindsight it was clearly a mistake to bring in a southpaw as a late replacement, I think that would of in part been a reason why Charlo looked a little lack lustre. Charlo never found an answer to Korobov's straight left and while Charlo threw more and was definitely the aggressor much of his work was ineffective, he was often just missing with shots.

Korobov boxed surprisingly well considering he'd only had 1 fight in the last 2 years and he didn't fade badly like I expected considering he was meant to have been fighting on the undercard at light heavy and had to drop 2 weight divisions so quickly. Having said that he looked like the smaller man and looked to be in shape.

Charlo clearly needs to work on facing southpaws, he should definitely avoid BJS, that's not a match up that favours him well.
