Have you saw Jennings fight? It'll be alot closer than you guys think in the early rounds, but yeah ultimately Cotto should score a late stoppage.
Berto would've been a great fight for Cotto...there were talks about it but it was a non-title fight...no point in that Cintron would've been great Karass is a great idea... Clottey would've been a bold statement to make... Baldomir isn't making 147 anymore I believe...he's 154 currently I personally feel if Cotto smokes this kid inside 2 rounds...that's all the evidence I need to see if Cotto is motivated and prepared for Margo...well prepared is a stretch...but motivation would be evident :smoke
Jennings is a decent fighter with excellent staminia and fitness but I think he might get busted up ala Paulie in this one
Michael Jennings is a bum fighter much like a Gary Lockett who is going to get exposed on a over price PPV in Feburary.:yep
Jennings is no Gary Lockett. Cotto will stop him, but he will go out on his shield, rather than taking a knee, asking his trainer to throw in the towel and promptly retiring. Jennings is a Euro/WBO level fighter, something that will be proven when they meet.
Bob Arum knows how to take care of his boxers. Remember when arum made pacman fight solis after 3 good fight in 2006 for pac. Pavlik is also fighting some boxer Marco Antonio Rubio. Leave it to arum. He knows his top boxers need some rest after fighting top competition.
Cotto facing Jennings is the equivalent of Margarito facing (regular) WBA Champion Nuzhnenko. As of now Margo fighting Shane is much better preparation and challenge and it's not on PPV. Cotto would have to fight Clottey or at least Cintron or Berto for a fighter his level to prepare for Margo. All I can say is fighting Gomez the first time in something that resembled a bad sparring session and now Jennings in another one is not good for the sport. It's no wonder Cotto didn't want to fight Jennings. The worse part is the Cotto/Pavlik doubleheader in Feb. will be on PPV which is a joke considering how overmatched their opponents are. Nothing against either Pavlik or Cotto but I hope their opponents really put up a good fight in what appears to be a farce.
