It's crazy how Pernell was considered out of his prime when he fought a young Oscar and Spence was considered prime when he fought Crawford. But one could argue that Pernell would be the best 135 to 147 pounder in this era. So which fighter was better? The Pernell who fought Oscar or the Spence who fought Crawford?

I don't know I think Spence ( at his best, not weight drained) would be too big. No offense to you but I'm getting sick and tired of hearing this styles makes fights argument all the time

Pernell Whitaker moved up to Jr Middleweight and beat Julio Cesar Vasquez, who made 10 title defences and is known for beating up and dropping Winky Wright like a dozen times.

So I'm not sure where you're getting that Spence would be too big from.

Obviously Pernell. Even if it wasn't his best weight.

The shopworn, on coke version of Pernell was still better than Spence, who I think is still prime. I feel this question is trying to paint Spence as declined and I don't think he is he was just shocked at the physical strength of Crawford (so was I). I do also think Spence probably pressed the gas on his body a little to make weight (that doesn't mean he ain't prime) but stylistically Crawford at 147 was just a bridge too far, maybe he could at JMW.........I dunno.

But a coked out Pernell was still better, hell that Pernell would be hell for everyone from 140-154 currently.

And this is why I refuse to give Crawford credit for the Spence win that Spence would have lost the Thurman innestadionis and Virgil

Do you know how to read ? Did you not see where I said "Beat Winky Wright" yet in another sentence you said "Beat no good fighters".

You also said "Spence would be too big" yet Whitaker beat the bigger Vasquez who made more title defences than Spence.

You're called BoxingIQ but somehow you don't understand simple logic.

And you're a fanboy whose bias and gives credit to fighter who defeat undersized and/or weight drained fighters. Crawford gets no credit

Hold on a minute my guy you're changing the subject so please stay on the topic on what we're discussing, I'm not sure what your hissy fit about Crawford has got to do with anything regarding the prior conversation.

You made a comment about Spence being too big for Whitaker......

Which I replied with Whitaker beating the "bigger Vasquez at Jr Middleweight" which comprehensively shows Whitaker can deal with bigger fighters.

You then replied with "Vasquez beat no good fighters" and yet somehow you missed the part where I said "beat Winky Wright" who is a better fighter than anyone on Spence's resume.

So yes address these two points above thank you.
