Benitez? Wilfred didnt even use footspeed but relied on upper body movement. I would have been more impressed with Ray if he had just beaten Norris like he was suppossed to do. It's youth vs expereince and the favorite should not get blown out the way he did, something that the novices here on ESB dont seem to be able to grasp.

Tommy outboxed both Wilfred AND Ray. The fact that Hagler took the fight too him and took him out in 3 proves he was more successful than Leonard at coping with boxers. There's no way around it.

 

You misunderstand me. I was reffering to Terry Norris. Leonard had much the better experience. Funny how no one talks about that part.

Truth is, no one gave Terry a chance except for myself. I knew he would not only defeat him but destroy him and destroy him he did.

And i was asking to dealt better against top notch boxers that had speed and movement, something that Magoo and a few others here are OBVIOUSLY way too scared to answer which is why i baited them just to make sure

Leonard actually has very liitle experience dealing with these types. He hadnt faced one quality middleweight in his prime. Not Hagler, not Nunn. I believe Leonard was avoiding any middleweight who posed a threat to him

Refer to page 130 Sorcery at Caesars (I know this is not a popular book with leonard fans) and you will find Silver and I are right in this. So ignore that bum on ESB who said "if only leonard didnt have to take off those three years " as though Leonard had been exiled from the sport of boxing.

It may sould like it makes no sense but it makes perfect sense. I've heard people like yourself say "well ray had all that inactivity that hurt him more than hagler was hurt"

And yet here he was in the ring with Norris NOT fighting the bigger man and without the ring rust. You would think Ray was getting better with each fight.

As I recall it, Terry Norris had less experience and fought at the same weight as Ray and still bested him with ease. How do you explain that taking Norris' inexperience into account?

Now you want to talk about huge victories, you can mention leonard but even more deservedly, Norris for what he did to Ray.

 

Look just stop all the busllshitting, you're not fooling anyone. I know you're too afraid to even address the true reasons for the layoff, the beating he took from Norris. You wont even admit that Norris beat him in a fair fight in which Terry was at a big disadvantage in experience.

Just tell me yes or no: Was Leonard favored 3-1 to win that fight? If he was, then how can he be shot? That's not what the experts were saying at the time.
