Again, like with the DAZN deal, you couldn't be more wrong. AJ LOST his first fights to Ruiz, Usyk or Dubois. Joshua was on the floor NINE TIMES in those loses. Wilder successfully defended his title against Fury for the eighth time in their first fight. Wilder floored Fury twice. Wilder wasn't on the deck a single time. Fury was twice and most thought Fury got a long count. (Whether Fury was "out" or not in the 12th was the story of that fight. It's the only highlight they show to this day.) FURY didn't win, unlike Ruiz and Usyk and Dubois, who all walked out with the belts over their shoulders. The brand WAS protected. Wilder remained champion. Wilder even made two successful defenses (his ninth and tenth) AFTER that. Nobody had a problem referring to Wilder as champ when he continued to defend, while Fury was back on ESPN fighting Tom Schwarz. Nobody bashes Byrd for not giving Golota another crack at his title. Nobody bashes Rahman for not giving Toney another shot at his title. And they didn't even drop Golota and Toney, let alone drop them twice. It's just another example of guys being high. "A BRAND" to protect. Jesus. A successful defense ... is a protected "brand."
YOU (and nobody else in this thread, or ever, really) will address how Wilder gave up weight to all his opponents for 12 straight years. How is that being "protected?" It's the OPPOSITE of being protected. Why won't you do that? 12 years straight. Every fight. How is that "protecting" the brand? Explain that. Better yet. NAME A SINGLE BOXER anywhere in history who gave up weight to everyone they fought for 12 years straight? If you can find ONE, it's some poor guy who was beaten to pulp every time out, like Marion Wilson. And even Marion Wilson didn't go that long without outweighing someone, because they had to give him a chance against "SOMEONE SOMETIME." Joshua just lost every round and got knocked out by a guy he (Joshua) outweighed by five pounds. When was the last time Wilder outweighed anyone in the ring by even five pounds? (2011 ... 13 years ago?) You're insisting Wilder was "protected" because he broke his hand against the 20 pounds heavier defending champ, and had to box his way to a 12-round decision to win the title ... and he didn't immediately, first fight back from a broken hand, unify with the another 30 pounds heavier than him champ in Wilder's first defense? After winning his first title, Wlad didn't unify against anyone in his first defense (let alone coming off a broken hand against someone 30 pounds heavier than him). Neither did Usyk. Neither did Fury. Neither did Joshua. Neither did Dubois. Neither did Parker. Who ever has? What is wrong with you people? Seriously. Not only does Wilder have to fight everyone who outweighs him all the time, but he has to fight guys 30 pounds heavier while he's coming off a broken hand, too?
Wilder is a cruiser weight He would easily cut to cruiser if he wanted to Everyone hates him and won't be fair Just read who you replied to I'm apparently a major usyk hater because I don't believe he belongs with the higher echelon of ATG fighters and yet here he is bashing Wilder and Fury repeatedly Boring hypocrite. Fair play to you for acknowledging him, I normally ignore his posts
Wlad Klitschko was 41 years old, hadn't won a fight in two years and Joshua outweighed him by 10 pounds. When was the last time Wilder fought someone who was 41, hadn't won a fight in two years and Wilder outweighed him by 10 pounds? I don't think that's ever happened a single time. If Wilder had fought someone who was 41, hadn't won in two years, and Wilder outweighed him by 10 pounds, I'm sure you'd all say Wilder was being "protected." And that was Joshua's best win (and he even had to get off the floor in that one).
You obviously big Wilder up as a Fury fan. Nothing to see here. Wilder has always been a paper champion nevertheless. All this talk about how much lighter he was against B tier HWs don’t hold any water. Every single time Wilder stepped up he was exposed for the poor boxer that he is. His poor balance, foot work, lack of ring IQ have nothing to do with his weight. Take his straight right hand punch away and he literally has nothing else. That’s why he would lose to any elite fighters in HW or CW, it doesn’t matter where he fights.
I'm not a big fan of wilder, you are a hypocrite to label me a hater, yer here you are You say me being g Irish makes sense Likewise about finding out you are Dutch. Makes sense to me now
Definitely Wilder, but who was his promoter? Was Wilder making the decisions or was he guided by someone else? We all acknowledge that Hearn steered AJ like Svengali controlled thr Russian Tsar.
Wilder has been a pro for 16 years. If you can't even "identify" who was apparently "protecting" him ... it doesn't bode well for your argument. And you can't because nobody was protecting him. I don't know why this is so difficult for some of you.
Wilder trusted Finkel and Haymon, who knew he was never any good and kept him in PBC witness protection program. They rejected the 120 million dollar 3 fight deal saying they got a better financial option for him, and he didn't earn this amount in his next 5 fights, lol. Wilder is stupid enough that he probably believed that spin.
Well, you teamed up with a Wilder fan just for the sake of arguing. I won’t bother digging it up but I’m sure you were fiercely arguing with Dubblechin over the Fury fights in the past. Yet here you are, teaming up with him, after complaining about how others supposedly team up against you. Talk about hypocrisy. I only mentioned your being Irish as Fury is Irish by heritage and it made sense how emotional you were about him. You just try to provoke me for the sake of provoking but have at it. One of the good things about being Dutch is that we have thick skins and don’t take offence at such petty things.
Wilder easily his two best wins are against Ortiz a fighter who nearly beat him twice He couldn't even beat Fury who just got out of fat camp Beyonce the the very definition of a paper champion and protected fighter it's no surprise as soon as he started fighting anyone with a pulse it was loss after loss Saying that he will be champion again but this time the twerking world championship
Name one other "protected" fighter who was outweighed by everyone he faced in the ring for 12 straight years? One other name. If that's the "definition" of a protected fighter ... there must be a whole bunch of names you can list. Because, in my book, being outweighed (often by ridiculous amounts) in every fight for a dozen years isn't protection. I'll wait for you to name even ONE other guy. You aren't much of a boxing fan if you can't.
When did Joshua go before a federal judge to force a guy who beat him to give him another fight? Once they beat Joshua's behind, they all want more of that. Hell, Andy Ruiz was so "worried" about fighting Joshua again, he didn't even train. And Joshua literally RAN for 12 rounds, regardless.
