Just finished watching an interview with Gorman who discussed his frustration in having to face Kevin Johnson as a late replacement having had to train for another fighter. However, I couldn't make out the name of the opponent he was supposed to be fighting. If anyone can tell me that would be great, cheers guys

Think he pulled out to fight Teslenko instead, whose progress is going very slow

Wouldn't suprise me if he faces him next as I assume Maldonado was offered more money to fight Teslenko instead hence the pullout.

So the late replacement was actually better as the original opponent then. That doesn't happen often.

Interesting thought actually, probably not as good as a prime version of Kevin Johnson I'd suspect, as Johnson is way, way past it now. But considering Maldonado went the distance against both Rivas and Teslenko he can't be too bad.

But looking at his record, it's doubtful if he ever even beat a top500 heavyweight. I would definitely favor Kevin if they would ever meet.

Johnson barely throws any punches these days. It’s just pure survival. Incredible that he’s only been stopped twice in 13 defeats. He was a bit more open against Joshua but it was still very impressive in retrospect how quickly Joshua blitzed him. Should have been a first round KO but for stupid refereeing.
