Ideally, I'd like to see Cain vs Frank Mir, but since for some reason they've made the pointless mismatch that is Mir vs Big Nog, we'll have to look elsewhere for Cain. Roy Nelson then? Or who else that's available?
Kongo called him out Cain said he would take that fight. But I guess it is all up to Dana. Shane Carwin is a better wrestler than Cain, and I think he is a bigger puncher. Cain is one slow moving mother ****er if have ever seen one. Carwin could keep the fight standing use his superior punching power and granite chin to KO Cain. Carwin has one hell of a chin to take massive bombs, everthing Dos Santos could dish out for 3 rounds, were as Cain is laid the **** out in less than one minute and then brutally pummeled into submission in 1 minute and 4 seconds.
Carwin is a national champion wrestler. Bottom line Carwin took everything Dos Santos could dish out and was still standing at the end of the fight. Cain was ****ed up in 1 minute. Carwin is a huge puncher, he will put that slow **** Cain to sleep.
No reason it cant be Mir assuming he wins. The fight with Big Nog is only like a month away and Cain will likely need be on suspension anyway for being KOed.
The loser of Brock or Reem makes sense and is a big fight. JDS, Cain, Brock and Reem seem the creme so they should mix it up. Carwin and Cormier could enter that mix on a good win or two.
Cain took 2 shots to the head, one left hook i think (cant be sure from the camera angel) that rocked Cain bad as he was swinging his left hook that missed and you hear Rogan say "A good left hook from Cain". Then one punch to the body and bam the overhand right took Cain to the stars
He should hope someone with no pop in his hands because the guy can't take a punch and he's going to have to learn proper defense and head movement against someone who isn't going to shatter his glass with a single punch. That hands down stance and twitchy side-to-side thing that he does with his head is just pure awful. Either that or maybe he should remember that he's a wrestler and that tooling Lesnar standing doesn't count for much.
What an unpredictable turn of events. Chincheckas support fighter, fighter loses 1 fight by stoppage, chincheckas immediately and completely turn against him. I tipped JDS by 1st round KO, I am a massive JDS fan and not at all a fan of Cain, but even I can see that Velasquez was rusty and in crappy shape, and the punch which sent him down was to the skull, which ****ed his equilibrium - not the same thing as having an actual 'Glass Jaw/China Chin/whatever other bollocks the trendy trolls are saying these days'. JDS is a killer, brilliant boxing (for MMA) and hellacious power. Cain made a mistake in standing and trying to outstrike him, but that doesn't mean he has particularly weak punch resistance. Carwin got rocked by Gonzaga & JDS, Nelson got KO'd by Arlovski, Mir got totalled by Carwin, Lesnar got wiped out by Cain, Kongo got temporarily stanky-legged by Pat Barry, Nogueira got ravaged by Velasquez, etc etc etc... When you have 240+lbs men with tiny gloves flinging bombs at each other, people get stopped. It obviously doesn't mean they all have 'Glass Mandibles'. Dunno why I'm even bothering trying to reason with a "chinchecker" who has Chuck Liddell in the greatest 10 chins of all-time. Talk about a paradox...
Carwin is a bad matchup for Cain as his left hand lets all the rights in;P and Carwin hits like no one in the UFC. Also has better chin and Cains wrestling would be neutralized, or give him just a slight edge. His stamina could do the work, but Shane would be probably aware of that and go all in in first 2 rounds to score a stoppage. He could fight Struve or Schaub in next 1-2 months for a quick comeback. Then loser of Brock/Reem and if things work out for him he will be one fight from a titleshot Still fight with Carwin would be sick and thrilling so I would welcome it
