Boricuas, you will be fine. Many more will come from your island, no doubt.

    Cotto's done.

Santos is totally shot after what I saw again feather-fisted Yuri Foreman. Santos prime was wasted to a large degree anyway.

Juanma is the next by far. Yes, he had a rough fight because he did not fight the most intelligent fight last time out. Still, he showed a lot of other attributes that make a great champion besides the excellent skill we already knew he had.

It won't be long before another fighter emerges besides Juanma. It is Puerto Rico after all, the P4P #1 in champions per capita.

Ok...I have been thinking about this for some time. And I think there are about 4 REALLY GOOD BORICUA FIGHTERS that could possibly carry the "Bandera de Puerto Rico" in the ring as a Title Holder and "REPRESENT THE ISLAND...VERY WELL!!!"

    First, let weed-out the PRETENDERS:

Carlos Negron (Cruiserweight 6-0, San Juan)
    This content is protected

The only reason why people are even talking about him is because of his height (6'7)...But He is NOT IMPRESSIVE...AT ALL!!!!

    Francisco Palacios (Cruiserweight 19-0 Bayamon)
    This content is protected

He has some talent...But he's (19-0)...AND 32 YEARS OLD!!! If he's gonna claim a title, then he needs "Take another Road"...Because the "TOMATO CAN ROAD" is taking him NOWHERE!!!

Hector Sanchez (Jr. Welterweight 18-0 Santruce)
    This content is protected

A 6'1 140lbs Fighter that many are comparing to Paul Williams. But Paul Williams would never look as bad as Sanchez did against Demarcus "Chop Chop" Corley. This kid has alot of work to do.

    _____________________________________________________________________

    My Favorites:

    The Valasquez Twins
Juan Carlos & Carlos Ivan Valasquez (Bantamweights Guayanabo)
    This content is protected

Now I know that alot of you Probably saw their "SUBPAR" performances on ESPN2 in the summer. Even i was a bit dissapointed...But there is LOADS od Talent!!! But They need an entirely New TRAINERS. Too much talent to be wasted trying to teach them to be COUNTERPUNCHERS....They Kids should be TOTALLY OUTBOXING EVERYONE!!!

Luis Del Valle (Featherweight 7-0 Nuyorican But born in Bayamon)
    This content is protected

Could be a Star, Fundamentally Mature at 22 yrs old....Typical Boricua Fighter, Puncher that can Box...with POWER!!!

Omar Henry (Jr. Middleweight 6-0 Houston, Texas)
    This content is protected

Now Puerto Ricans probably won't show Henry as Strong a Love as a "Native-Full-Blooded Boricua" because Henry is Half African American and Puerto Rican...And his Boricua roots are from the "FAMED HUMBOLDT PARK DISTRICT OF CHICAGO".
But this 22 year old Kid has STAR WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM!!!! A Miguel Cotto with FAR SUPERIOR HEAD AND FOOT MOVEMENT!!! But if they (Boricuas on the Island) ever give him a chance....THEY'LL LOVE HIM!!!

Oh yeah...For the record...I didn't put Juanma...Because to many in the Boxing Community...He's already a STAR!!!

this is the best we ever produced as an all-around top quality fighter then Wilfredo Gomez and Tito Trinidad followed by Benitez really Benitez should have been the best but he didnt like to train.

The real deal seems to be Omar Henry he is half Puerto Rican sort of like the Carmelo Anthony of Boxing. JuanMa doesnt convince me and will eventually get scrubbed by Rafael or Izzy Vasquez. We still have Iron boy Calderon **** why can he weigh about 150lbs also Im hearing things about Wifredo Vasquez Jr but I have never seen him fight.

Watching him right now and he looks good but this is looking like the Margarito-Cotto fight right now. Wilfredo hitting him with bombs upstairs but guy keeps coming forward and going to the body. Vazquez should have been going to the body early!! He might LOSE if he doesn't change his strategy!! He needs to hit and run!!

Cotto is still better than most of the rest of the welterweight division. He'll earn a belt again. JuanMa was up against a supernatural force last time out and I'm sure the experience he gained from that will make him a much better fighter. No need to fret buddy, it definitely ain't over for a country steeped in boxing culture and history.
