I agree about needing to speak english. Roger Federer didn't become as popular until he learn the language. But it was easier for him because he was Swiss and alreadyknew three other languages. I hae heard that Gamboa is working on his english which is great, but it might take a long time before he doesn't use that terrible translator.
Broner and jose benevidez are fun to watch. He would need good rivals though to be a ppv star. If u want instant status climb the weight classes and maybe go for floyd, pac, and or khan would make them stars.
They speak English, admittedly not perfect English edit: nevermind, I thought it said "or" not "and/or"
Gamboa and Alvarez need to learn English if they want to be the next superstars in boxing... if not they'll be relagated to being big only amongst the latino fans
Even though he lost his last fight I would have to say Amir khan...I think he will beat Peterson in the rematch , move up to 147, and eventually 154 and have a long successful career, I could see him generating 600 to 850k ppv buys in 2014 to 2017
False and false. Mayweather was no action star but he climbed to the top. Pacquiao doesn't speak much and he is at the top.
Ward has the talent. He's not charismatic but could be the new Holyfield/Hopkins hybrid. Brook has too many haters & all the big names are ducking him. The best prospect Ive seen recently is Gary Russell Jr but he's a couple of years away from being a big star.
Canelo Alvarez- already has a huge following, exciting style, and great promotion. Gary Russell Jr- good person, exciting style, American. Brandon Rios- exciting style, Mexican-American, real mofo Adrian Broner- arrogant, exciting style, American (Could turn out to be a much more exciting version of Floyd) Donaire- exciting style, cool guy, will probably inherit all the Filipino fans after Pac. Jose Benavidez Jr.- exciting style, great person, Mexican-American Honorable Mentions: Abner Mares, Yuriorkis Gamboa, Mikey Garcia
