Dean Powell is announced as Khan's trainer for his upcoming fight in June but he is yet to settle on a permanent cornerman... so we can still argue this out :happy :happy

Definately! And with an Olympic medal and British crowds, there's no reason he cant attract the top bracket who could make some good money with him. But he'd probably have to live in the States to do it. Would be a good move for him to train with the best

It would be an awful move to go with Enzo, and I think they see this.

100% it will be Buddy or Roger. Probably Buddy as he is over here a lot for Paul Smith anyway.

Khan does not need a new coach. You can not improve on perfection.

Getting knocked down by Willie Limond is not perfect, taking 7 rounds to finish Kristjansen is not perfect, failing to knockout a super-featherweight is not perfect.

Khan looks good and I'm excited by him, but to say he's perfect is very naive! If he were to fight Katsidis now he'd be knocked out. But give him a year with Mayweather and it could be Kat going down.

As for the amount they cost, this wont be a worry for marketable Khan. One advert for a sports chain and thats that covered!

7 rounds to finish Kristjansen who has never been stopped before isnt bad...

I think Mayweather would be a beautiful mixture for Khan

Its not bad you're right. But its certainly not perfect!

Sorry its just that that comment really got me. To suggest that a prospect is 'perfect' is exactly what is wrong with expectations in the UK. We have a boxer who looks like he may go on to acheive great things, but people think he's already there. So anything he then does which isnt great - he is suddenly not good anymore rather than just on a learning curve!

What Khan needs now is a quality coach to turn him from the prospect into the real deal. What he doesnt need to people assuming he's already made it when he's done nothing of note at a professional level.

well if floyd snr takes him on he can spar with ODLH and you cannot get better then that! ODLH gets a fast boxer who he can spar with to get used to the hand speed of PBF and khan gets a quality sparring partner where he will NEVER get if he goes to any british trainer. But i doubt they will put him in with ODLH but just being and getting advice from a boxer and being close to Golden Boy do wonders for his career.

Also just sparring with quality people is beter then the crap british sparring partners he uses in bolton

mayweather should be the man..he can work on khan's defense and make great use of that size advantage.

roach is also good given his record..

Khan will clean up the Leightweight division and then jump to Welter to destroy anyone who gets in his way. PBF can run all he wants but Khan will stop him in under 8rounds when they meet.

IS it just me that thinks Khan has a good style to give Floyd a fight? fast hands great jab and very busy. could theoretically outwork him more effectively than ODLH.

Obviously he needs to develop more... Theres no-one really like Khan in the lower middle weights. Good power speed accuracy and workrate

Buddy McGirt? Khan should think twice before teaming up with McGirt.

There are quite a handful good trainers on the British isles. Why the hell does he have to team up with an American coach at all?
A hired gun from the USA? Ts! Ts!
