Are they generally bigger? Don't think so. Other than the few ultra big heavies (klit and Valuev) they are all in the range I mentioned where haye comforatble sits. Ony 2 of the current top 10 heavies are bigger than the range I set out (one of those by just half an inch, the other a freak in any era), and 2 smaller. For god sakes half the top ten are smaller guys than Haye is. I doubt that George would be known as "big" george if he came onto the scene today. I also doubt he'd be called out for being too small for a heavy.
True, lol. I can't wait to see Haye get hit by a HW, it won't be a pretty sight. This bandwagon is going to crash worse then Junior Zelenoff Witter .
Try reading my posts before replying. I said 2 are bigger than the ideal range for a heavy that I previuosly mentioned. That would be Wlad by half an inch and Valuev who is a freak.
Hopefully it will be Khan, he doesn't take risks. Haye is a throwback fighter, he'll fight anybody, anywhere. He deserves success more than most.
There are only two in the top ten bigger than Haye? I don't agree with you that Thompson is smaller than Haye for starters..are you serious???? Vlad by half an inch..what are you on about..the guy towers over Haye and if you are talking about reach then it obv. doesnt include across the chest, so Haye has no real advantage there. Vlad is bigger in every way.
haye,as he is more prepared to fight genuine world class opponents, therefore the chances of him getting flattened are greater. but so also may his rewards
Are we gonna re-hash this height, reach and weight **** again; there's already a massive thread that contains all this crap. As for the thing about Haye's head being to small for the HW division...get the **** out of here with that ****. If anyone is gonna put forward Haye to lose by KO use arguments that refer to his chin, stamina etc. (ie: proper boxing arguments). Leave the crazy-ass notions to Joe Public.
What strikes me as strange is how much **** fighters get on ESB if they take the easy route and don't challenge themselves, but Haye, in just 22 fights, won the English title, then the European title and then the WBA, WBC, WBO and Ring Belt at Cruiser by KOing the linear champion in his own backyard. Haye is exactly what everyone has been asking for, an exciting HW who isn't afraid to make the fights that people want to see, talk about looking the gift horse in the mouth! I see people whining on about the Lolenga Mock fight, the Carl Thompson fight and so on, but he had only had 6 and 10 fights respectively at that point - he was just an undisciplined raw fighter that had a lot to learn. The Lolenga fight is an example of a boxer punching way above his weight and capabilities, it was simply a case of that one moment in time all the angles and momentum being in Mock's favour and catching Haye with a wild shot. Weak punchers can put down people they should not be able to if the situation is right (see Ottke v Mundine). Then the Carl Thompson fight, that was the biggest learning experience of Haye's career - but whoever thought it was a good idea to put a ten fight novice in with the tough experienced and highly professional Thompson must have been crazy, but that's Haye for you! The last time Carl fought someone with so little experience was 17 years ago in 1991! As I have stated elsewhere, Haye was totally outclassing Thompson but his poor lifestyle and preperation let him down as he exhausted himself and could only throw single shots at the end. He was not KOed, he was not stopped because of his chin, it was his conditioning - which is surely considerably better now. In summary: An exciting HW who can punch and will fight anyone....what the f*ck are you whining about?! :tired
HE got knocked down... its boxing that can happen. He got up and kicked his arse. It was his 6th fight what do you want perfection?
