F=ma is newton's second law of motion. It saya that if two bodies have the same masses then the body with higher acceleration generates the larger force. I suppose this explains pac powerful punches, particularly the straight left. Note that the distance it travels is long compared to short punches but that same distance gave it a leeway to gain more acceleration hence the more force. BTW, power = foce/ time so the less time it takes to reach the target the more power. Damn, I feel like lecturing in a science class. :yep

Yes a quantity with direction is a vec tor while a quantity with no direction like length of a hand is a scalar.
