Who will takeover P4P next (next coming years, 2011ish)

Floyd Mayweather, Pacqiuao, Hopkins, JMM, Mosley, RJJ have dominated the P4P in the 2000's

But all of them are at the end of their careers. Once they depart who takes over

I leave it at those ten, but others could be Haye, Adamek, Froch, Bute, Lopez....

I have trouble seeing Chad Dawson losing in the next few years. Given his current position, physical ability, and boxing skill, he's my favorite to be the next P4P #1 stalwart. Paul Williams, despite being fantastic, is probably more beatable. Of course, some of that is based on the quality of competition that he'll likely be facing, i.e., Pavlik at 160, Martinez rematch, etc.

If either Arthur Abraham or Andre Ward get through the Super 6 unscathed, that would go a long way towards establishing them as an heir apparent. I think either one of them could conceivably do this.

Finally, I think the next year will be very telling concerning Gamboa and Khan. Both of them are likely to step up to the elite level. The physical talent each possesses is considerable, and if they can protect defensive vulnerabilities that they've shown in the past, look out.

 

i voted for chad dawson because in that time span he has the best chances of going undefeated i would probabl say

 

you say Mayweather is at the tail end of his career but his only 32. Mayweather will still be p4p in 2011!!! If I had to pick somebody else I would say Berto or Gamboa. Ward has the best chance though, the boy has got hands

 

You give Berto a credible shot at beating Mosley next month? I think that would likely be a precondition for him having a credible shot at P4P #1 by '11 or '12. I think you have a good point about Mayweather, though; he could be around for more than a couple years more.

 

Guillermo Rigondeaux should be on that list! He will surpass all of the fighters mentioned here...

I give Berto a great shot at beating Mosley. the speed is where its at and there both fast as hell, Mosley just hasnt fought nobody that fast in a long time. same thing can be said for Berto but Mosley stays falt footed while Berto keeps his feet moving. I think its gonna be a classic and I bought my tickets a long time ago. Gotta Love living in Vegas. Now if Mosley beats Berto then its a wrap, only got 40 more days till we know....

 

Please don't let the next p4p be Berto. Anybody but Berto.
