Peterson is a steroid cheating boxer. I like his personality, but i seriously hope Matthyse punishes him for using PEDs

 

I'm all in on Peterson.

 

At this moment in time I'd say Matthyese TKO/KO. Both are slow starters but Peterson has been down against lesser punchers so if Matthyese can land I can see him getting a stoppage, could actually be early.

People say Peterson has a better resume but he was beaten solidly by Bradley, should have lost vs. Ortiz on most peoples cards and had a 50-50 fight with Khan which was probably his best performance against world-class opposition (plus he was probably on peds in that fight). But Matthyese is a lot more heavy-handed and wont fight stupid like Khan (lie son ropes, holding-running etc). So one way of looking at Peterson's record is that vs top class opposition he has 1 out of 3 wins, maybe a draw which isn't fantastic. True he looked good vs Holt but Holt isn't really world class opposition. Matthyese you could argue has at least 1 out of 2 wins vs Alexander and Judah, possibly a win and a draw. Has a higher %KO rate and good if not top class wins vs. Olusegun, and Soto. So resume-wise I'd say its quite close.

Style-wise, it looks good for Matthyese who seems to have the edge in power and chin and it could be a war which you would think would suit him more than Peterson. It'll be harder for Peterson to walk down/through a guy like Matthyese who has a good chin and power as opposed to guys like Khan or Holt. Matthyese may not be the God people make him out to be but hard to see Peterson having success like Judah did in the first half of their fight by using slickness and speed.

Matthyese is the worthy favourite in my eyes, and I hope he wins because even though I quite like Peterson as a boxer, I still think its a joke that a caught PED user was able to keep his belt. A win for Matthyese could set up a match vs Garcia which could be a great fight
