Sauerland obviously sold Kessler to benefit Abraham. Abraham will have home advantage against Taylor and in turn Kessler has to go abroad against Ward. Another point that favours Abraham is the points system. 4 points will definitely be enogh to advance and 3 points should even do it. This means that Abrahm just has to win by KO in one of three fights to reach the semi finals. In that light, Abraham is probably the one who is the surest of getting to the next round.
Kessler, possibly Ward. JT and Abraham could surprise a lot of people mind, and FRoch could cause a few upsets along te way. ****, even Dirrell could make some noise, though I haven't seen much of him. This tournament is gonna be superb.
i think froch could have abraham in fits but also dirrell and ward may have kessler in a heap of trouble, people forget kesslers lay off which may have a big effect, abraham vs taylor is also very interesting. i want froch to win, kessler is the favourite but i smell an outsider like ward winning the whole thing, cant wait!!!
Kessler had a lot of success against Calzaghe – it was always competitive. It was Calzaghe that confused him because of how he adapts – he didn’t change game plan once, he adapted continuously as the rounds went on – popping his jab, slipping punches, then flurrying unexpectedly, then hitting to the body, then stepping out. Kessler had the right approach early on for Calzaghe’s swarming but he couldn’t adapt when the target kept changing. From 168 to 175, the only other guys that do that are Hopkins and Dawson (although he can be sucked into a brawl). What you have to ask: is there any other fighter who can do that in the line-up? No. Ward maybe, but he hasn’t faced an opponent that has forced him to change – he was just mixing it up against Miranda. Other than him, there’s no one in that bunch who’s seriously adaptable. Froch… he’ll have success against Ward and Dirrell, simply because he’ll keep on going and neither of those guys can punch for ****. He’ll probably KO both and he’ll repeat his trick with Taylor. Against Kessler he gets outworked and busted up for a lopsided UD loss. Against Abraham he enjoys a lead early on before getting caught with a monstrous left-right hook combo that puts him out about round 7, probably when he tries to throw one of those snaking right hand leads he uses. Kessler – I think he’ll win it, but he’ll have problems with Abraham’s patient counter-punching approach. He’ll beat the bejeesus out of Taylor cause of Taylor’s low left hand and Kessler’s laser-like jab-right combo. Kessler does everything Pavlik does but better – expect a painful beating for Jermain on that one.
Dude are you putting Taylor up there to add credibility to your boy Froch or are you just ignorant?! Taylors done! His stamina is terrible.
If Kessler is 100%,he has the biggest chance of winning IMO,watch Kessler vs. Andrade, that fight shows kessler when he is injury free, and fight a good fight against a good opponent..
