Don't talk out of your ****in rear, punches landing on the gloves are NOT scoring punches. Its clean effective punching that scores, and it was Murray landing the scoring punches. Murray landed the cleaner shots, the harder shots, and he put Martinez on his ass twice.Compare the damage to each fighters face at the end then tell me Martinez won the fight ? 115-113 Murray, and that was with only one KD being scored. Murray was Martinez's daddy in there, and Martinez looked pathetic when he was trying to showboat whilst being outboxed. Ask me nicely and i'll teach you how to score a fight correctly.
Don't get me wrong, I thought it was a knockdown, but had it been scored, the open cards given to the corners would have been different and that extra point or potential 3 point swing might have convinced Martinez to fight different those last few rounds. I don't live that far away from Murray actually I was rooting for him but I just think it was an either way affair.
It's by no means a robbery. But with the scores that were turned in, that means that they had Sergio winning 8 rounds and Murray only 4. I'm sorry but that is just a little ridiculous. Sergio did NOT win more than 7 rounds. Actually, I wouldn't be able to name you one other than the 6 I scored for him where there was any sort of argument.
Murray by 2 points (that's without the extra point for the knockdown), Martinez should have focused more on the body rather than just being content with bouncing punches off Murray's forearms. I'm actually surprised so many of you guy's thought Martinez won.
I had Martinez 114-113. The fight should have been a draw if they counted that KD correctly. Martinez didn't win this fight, but he didn't lose either. He gained nothing...but showed a lot of weaknesses and deterioration.
Keep in mind on ESB that Sergio Martinez is on the Mount Rushmore of worshiped active fighters. I like Sergio and have no opinion one way or the other regarding Murray (other than respecting him for the scrap with Sturm), so I entered the fight rooting for Sergio, but I hate when I see the people on this site show their hypocrisy. --- I agree. About Sergio hitting a whole lot of gloves and forearm while looking extremely one dimensional for the first time since entering the world stage.
Martinez landed nothing, he was just throwing flashy flurry's that were hitting nothing but glove. He had his ass handed to him in the last half of the fight
Murray was never gonna get the nod in Argentina, the ref stopped the fight a couple of times because Martinez was getting hit and he didn't like it. and don't showboat when your getting outboxed in your own backyard
Argentine TV scored the fight for Murray. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNCDKZII8kI&list=UU3HdU7PyeDrtlVICPktSF0w
1. martinez 2. martinez 3. martinez 4. martinez/murray even 5. martinez 6. murray 7. murray 8. murray 10/8 9. murray 10. murray should of been 10/8 11. martinez 12. martinez 114 114 due to the 10th round knock down not being counted murray needed to war it out in the last instead of backing to the ropes.
Can't really that the polls too seriously, this site is littered with British hype job fans who are thirsty for a world champion since all they have is Cleverly and that one guy who was scared to fight Broner, forgot his name. Anyway, Martinez wins it close, but clearly by 1 point.
1- Sergio 2- Sergio 3- Sergio 4- Murray 5- Murray 6- Murray 7- Sergio 8- Murray 10-8 9- Murray 10- Murray 11- Sergio 12- Sergio 114-113 Murray * the moment the fight ended I forgot if it was the 6th or 7th I scored for Sergio; but it was only one or the other; I'm pretty sure I thought it was the 7th.
Whilst American Boxing is littered with insular blinkered idiots who think the world revolves around the United States. There was no way Murray with DiBellend and HBO on board Murray could ever win.
