I scored it even, had Sturm beating Macklin so imo Murray put up the better fight. If Sturm had an extra minute in each fight I think he stops both

Sturm clearly should have won, although Murray showed good heart and grit and was the better man late.

After what had been said before Barker was probably worried about coming across as a bitter bugger if he said Sturm won.

Sturm edged it for me, murray didnt let his punches go enough, when he did dominated him but he didnt follow up on the good work he did.

That said, he did far better than I thought he would have and has proven himself to be on the same level as barker and maklin

:deal If I had the boxing screwballs I would have posted just that...but I didnt fall for the bias so Sturm for me. In comparrison, Macklin did twice as much (punches and power punches etc)

I honestly felt after 12 rounds he'd just fallen short, due to it being in Germany and all that, however for one judge to score it 116-112 was a disgrace, but to beat a Champion in his own back yard you need a bit more that that, MM needed to open up more and catch the judges eyes it the latter rounds, he didn't quite do that.

He will come back better and stronger for the experience I think and become a World Champion.

Very close fight, no real venom in Murrays work.
I scored it to Sturm by a round, he just seemed to do enough and always stepped it up at the right times within the rounds.
The last round was one of the 2 clear rounds I scored in the fight, MM had the other one.

It was funny when Nelson was trying to imply robbery and get a sort of consensus outcry thing going on, and then Barker came out and said "I had Sturm winning". The look on Nelson's face

On the same page here. I thought Mackliworked hard but didn't get through. I thought Murray did cleaner work than Macklin. Don't think either fight was scandalous though. With Sturm it is very subjective as to what you like. I get the argument that Sturm was the aggressor and held the centre of the ring, I just don't think he is that effective with his work rate.

I think that poll would be very different if the fight were in Manchester and the crowd cheering everything Murray did.

When a fight is in Germany, we go into it with a sub-concious that our fighter has to win the round big to get the nod.

That was a close close fight.
