My copy of the fight is all messed up once it gets to round 13. I had Hagler ahead 8-4 anyway so regardless I thought he deserved the decision, but how did the fight go in the last 3 rounds?
Can't remember the rounds vividly to give you a breakdown right now, but I scored the 13th for Vito and the last two for Marv. As such, Marv won 145-141 on my card. Never really saw how this could be a draw. Marv clearly took it imo. Just out of interest, what was your round breakdown EB?
I have it written down somewhere so I can't tell you right now, I know the first round I gave Vito was the 5th.
Same here. Had the first even, then Marv taking 2,3,4, Vito the 5th, Marv the 6th and 7th, Vito the 8th, Marv the 9th and 10th, Vito the next three and Marv the final two.
A draw was just as bad as Holyfield/Lewis I was. But I always thought that it was THAT decision which triggered something in Marvin. Something he wouldn't had without that and that's why he leveled himself up to the next step of his strength before KO'ing all his opponents in his title reign (except Duran and Leonard).
Good point, that could well have unleashed the monster we saw in latter bouts. In which case, it was a good spur for him.
I scored it 10-5 for Hagler. Antofurmo was ineffective aggression. Hagler was landing the much cleaner punches. As I mentioned in a earlier post Hagler should of been 65-1-1. He clearly beat Antofurmo 1 and Watts and squeaked out a decision again Leonard
Vito made hagler miss a lot and scored quite a few times on Hagler. Marvin didnt become the compete fighter until after this fight
