You aren't an idiot for thinking that Gus was the victor, you are an idiot for not understanding that it was a close fight. The first three rounds were close, Gus probably eked them out, but any one of them could have gone to Jones. The last two were similar, but more in favor of Jones than Gus. So yeah, it is pretty dumb to say that "at worst it was 3-2 Gus".
It was a very close fight & even looking at both fighters waiting for the judges cards to be read out both didn't seem to think they had won........when it was announced Jones' relieved face showed how close it was.........bring on the rematch.
like was said earlier, a draw would have been the right result - both guys left itall in there, and it was too close to call Even ignoring the corrupt judge, this should have been a draw Perhaps they should let the viewers decide who won
I think for the fact that Gus gave Jones a hellavu fight & made him look beatable for the first time comes into play..........people get caught up in emotions when a good scrap is on......both gave it there all & both deserve to do it again which we will be the winners as I think they could fight 10 times & have 10 wars.
At worst 3-2 Gus? Really? You honestly think that? You think that 3 of those rounds were emphatic one way or the other? Even the 4th when Gus looked on the verge of being stopped was a close round as he probably won the first 3 minutes but then was on his bike trying not to get stopped for the last 2 but you know Jones will get that round as he finished the round strong and Gus was back peddling like a mofo. Round 5 was Jones all day long. So you really think that there could not be a case for Jones winning any of the first 3 rounds? Wow.
It's pretty close, could have gone either way but I think gus won, Judges didn't give gus the best possibly because he did not dominate the champion. I scored 1,2,3 Gus 4,5 Bones Gus could have clearly won the fight if he did not get rocked during the 4th round. He is lighting bones up that round!
