Hatton -Mayweather '07 and Cotto-Mayweather '08 two straight undefeated top-10 pound for pound fighters after the highest grossing fight in history speaks loudly for Mayweather ending his career strongly. Tony will retire never being a top-10 p4p fighter. Williams has been untested by welters and heavier larger fighters.

Possible. Hearns is the guy that right away popped into my head as a stylistic nightmare for Floyd, and Floyd couldn't expose the one weakness Hitman had.

ive been ringside for Cotto's garden fights, and OMG is this guy huge over there. I've never been to a fight where the crowd is so crazy for their guy. I think Golden Boy is setting this up, if Mosely wins he becomes marketable enough to make a blockbuster with Mayweather. If Cotto wins, he'll be more marketable than he already is. I love Cotto, he's gonna be huge. I don't think Floyd can retire without fighting Cotto.

I don't think Hearns could KO SRR, SRL, or Whitaker.

As for Hearn and PBF. PBF would have no advantages here. Hearns may be the best pure boxer I ever saw (admittedly not seeing much of the guys from the 60's and before) and of course, the power, oh my....I can't conceive of a way for PBF to get away from him. I don't think many KO PBF who has an underrated chin and great defense...but Hearns I think could.

I wouldn't bet on this, but I'm in agreement with Doug Fischer. I think this fight is going to be a lot tougher for Floyd than most people, including experts, think. I wouldn't pick Hatton to beat ANY of the current WW titlists, but I think he has a legit shot against one: Mayweather. Styles make fights, and Hatton has the style to give Mayweather fits.

Other than that, I think Williams could beat Mayweather simply due to the physical advantages.

I give all 3 varying degrees of chance in beating Floyd.

Yet, here's my order of the most likely

    1, Cotto
    2. SSm
    3. Hatton

As I said, I have not seen much of them.

How many guys have fought at 147? I think Hearns could KO 95% of them. If you can name 10 that he couldn't, or even 20, I think I would still be well within that limit.

While I think Shane beats Cotto, I think Cotto has the best chance of the three.

I agree WIlliams might be able to give Floyd a hell of a test. Just due to size and workrate.

    1. Mosley
    2. Cotto
    3. HAtton

But I still think that Floyd can beat all 3 of them honestly.

as if Cotto could beat pbf, pbf's defense just too good for cotto's bodywork and even when he mixes it up, up and downstairs. only guy that can match pbf's speed and therefore have a good chance is sugar shane.

at 147 i see Williams as the biggest threat to PBF because of his size and style...PBF would have to take chances against Williams, because the jab would bother PBF all night...after Williams, Mosley would be the next biggest threat to PBF...then Cotto...then Cintron...then Margarito...then Hatton...

Oddly enough, I was thinking of Hearns too when I first read this thread
