On paper Taylor should win this fight but he's not the smartest fighter out there if he boxes he wins but if he losses focus and fights Froch's fight he will lose.

While you put seriously in capital letters, that has not been enough to convince me.

Come on, avatar bet!!!!! I'm well up for this one. Unless an am gets badly exposed relatively, I will tend to go with them. They usually adapt. Froch was an excellent, excellent amateur - better than the also excellent taylor, from what I've seen. This is a great fight. but Taylor is on the downhill, froch on the up. froch's definitely slow (at this level, not generally), but he's very, very accurate.

I'm well up for a bet on this. How do we work it if there are three or four bets? I just take one every week until the bet ends and you all have one for a week. I don't mind. But I stick to this. I lose if Froch doesn't win by stoppage, bar a TD or DQ.

Only an idiot would pick a man who hasn't fought well in 4 yrs to beat a man clearly coming to his peak.

Carry on living in your ignorant little american bias world. I'm not a Froch fan but at least i have the sense to look at the two fighters in their current state and not what they were doing 4 yrs ago.

JT clearly showed that he was outgunned by pavlik.
He hit the man 17 times and couldn't stop him.
    Verdict no power'
He showed that when his back was against the wall he couldn't change his game plan
    and he crumbled!
    Verdict No chin!! no versatility!
In the second fight he seemed afraid of Pavliks power and wouldn't engage.
    Verdict No heart!
Now you put all that together with his last outing against two left feet lacy and it doesn't bode well!

froch is not a master technician or anything but at least hes got A CHIN! A HEART! AND IS NOT AFRAID TO FIGHT!

However if Froch doesn't give him a good pasting and leaves it in the judges hands he could be on the wrong side of a SD.!
Froch has got more than a punchers chance cos Taylors on the slide and hes a shadow of himself! So dont be so blinded by your patriotism! Muppet!

    But idiot i am not!

Word and bo to you Mr tommyboa78.

Now let's also fcuk off on the newbie thing.

I don't entirely agree with your argument, but it is very, very understandable.

the back against the wall point is the interestig thing about Lacy. I felt he crumbled in the first Pavlik fight. He was so proud that he'd proven himself - that he could deck and seriously hurt Pavlik, that he didn't then worry about winning. his reputation was (and it was at the time) salvaged. Froch's a winner. He'll take him out with his power and class.

If I'm wrong, fair enough. but I still can't see a reason for taylor winnng this fight. Wrong weight, wrong time.

If Taylor is at his best, he wins the fight handily.

The question is: Does that guy still exist, and does he exist at 168 lbs.?

I respect both guys, and I know Froch could take JT out if JT gets out of his gameplan or unfocused. But I have to pick

    .

Froch is sloppy, and nowhere near as athletic as Taylor is. If JT fights his fight -- and is capable of doing so at 168 -- then he wins.

Taylor was outboxed by the skilled pugilist that is Pavlik and could not KO Cory Spinks so I dont see why JT is such a heavy favourite.

56% to 44% is what I'm seeing here. You must have opened the Vitali vs Arreola poll by mistake.

    Thx, for your comments.

Id love to say i can't see Taylor winning but problem is, it is viable to think that he could
just box clever and run like he did in the 2nd Pavlik fight but cos hes the home fighter he'll get the decision. Thats the problem with fighting stateside before you got a rep. If they aint heard of you it makes it even harder to get the decision.

So like you i agree that Taylor can't get better up in the weights but he might steel a decision. Regretably! Its all up to Froch. Hes gotta win 9 rounds clearly! or KO HIM!

    BO!

    avy bet, huh.

how bout you keep the bets you have and if taylor loses i'll sport a froch avy for a week, cool?

now i'm basing my pick on styles & resume. jermaine maybe on the downslide but he's seen everything carl has to offer. i expect to see taylor completely outclass this big mouth hype job.

My comments were based on previous polls but looks like people are starting to see this as a 50:50 fight.

Kelly is a lot more skilled than you give him credit for. Based on what I saw of Froch vs Pascal, Froch isn't even one half the boxer Kelly Pavlik is. Froch isn't nearly fast enough to hold his left low against Taylor like he does against the fighters he has faced until now. Taylor will salt his face with jabs and pepper it with rights for good measure. Froch will come out of this fight well seasoned and battered. :D You will see a lot of 'tough' leave Froch as the rounds go on. I don't care how good his chin is, you bruise up someones face and they are going to get gun shy. Taylor has enough power and speed to make Froch think twice about offense. Based on Taylor/Lacy and Froch/Pascal, I just can't see it going much different. Always the chance of a Froch KO, but I don't see Taylor getting that careless. He is focused for this fight.

I think Carl will be too slow and Jermain should win a UD.
