It's strength and science vs strength alone.

Foreman does not possess the straight punches to trouble Johnson who will dare Foreman to swing at him, and round by round, make him more self-conscious of his lacking ability.

No amount of revisionism can derail the simple fact that Johnson was awfully strong; 17" guns, compactly built, as mentally tough as can be, and ring savvy to the gills. This modern hunch of an image projected that the bigger boy bullied the smaller, defenceless white hopes does not float - Johnson was just as much of a monster as Foreman was but in a different way.

Johnson could stop and trap Foreman, use his strength against him and then find the counters to start shutting him down, more efficiently than Ali did in Zaire.

Foreman does not have the 'snap' needed to contend with Johnson or the advantage in strength to boss the situation.

Foreman would fold before the fight reached the distance.

Johnson by UD or late KO against Foreman. Johnson was a defensive specialist that had better feet than most on this forum give him credit for. It's a given that you have to have decent feet to be a defensive specialist and he also hit pretty hard too. I wouldn't go so far as to say he ranks with Foreman, Shavers, Tyson and Lennox Lewis in terms of pure power, but he was atheletically better than most heavyweights. An old Jack Johnson apparently would show up to Stillmans gym in the 30's and out-spar a lot of the contenders of the day at any weight. Boxing was different in his era, but he came from a time when endurance was the key in being a successful fighter.

Johnson by decision, no matter how long the fight went on.

Foreman had devastating power in both hands, but Johnson had incredibly sharp defensive skills and excellent footwork. He didn't have a monster punch, but when you block and move like he did, it's unnecessary.

Jack Johnson would have been a nightmare for George Foreman. He would have boxed his ears off and stoped him late.

Johnson is the superior fighter. End of chat. Foreman overrated from a head to head viewpoint, but not quite as much as Dempsey.

Because he is a Holmes fan he is ignorant? I find your post arrogant and ignorant ,Johnson was kod by Joe Choynsky an acknowledged terrific hitter, for your information it was a body shot not a punch to the chin.Jack Johnson a coward? Sure he was ,he walked into an arena in Reno knowing every one in the place detested him,and the band played" all c***s look alike to me" ,this after a death threat the nigh before ,Johnson once went into the middle of Klan meeting and gave an address, he was unarmed and alone .You are a _ --- supply your own epiphet.

    Easy call: Johnson.

Elusiveness tired Foreman out. Johnson could move, block, slip, feint and spoil till Foreman winds down, while pecking and poking with great accuracy for a late TKO. Johnson has always been considered one of the best defensive heavies of all time and his offense was no slouch and neither was his strength.

"Defence allways wins in the end ,if it's good enough"."I would spend three or four rounds just padding backwards blocking punches ".Jack Johnson.

Toad-boy picks up the dictionary every now and then and attempts to hide his intellectual limitations; specifically, his pugilistic ignorance. "George Foreman and Jack Johnson suck." --Ridiculous.

Stick to clowning, and leave serious argument to adults.

I wouldn't even pick Johnson over Mormeck let alone Foreman. This one would last into the second, maybe.

Another topic that reveals the astounding levels of delusion available on this board.

Keep up the good work. I enjoy being entertained.
