I think Hide troubled him for a few rounds, Hide was a mediocre heavyweight with a glass jaw, Lewis and Tyson would have made sure he didnt see the second round. I think he went 5+ with Bowe.

It happens to the best of us. I held Comeback Foreman in high regards since he did regain the championship 20 years after Zaire. But since joining ESB and reading all the Foreman Hook, Mr Bill and Combat Heavy Hand posts, I've realized that having a normal discussion with Foreman fan is foolish, unwise and imprudent.

That fight looked like someone accidentally hit the slo mo button on your DVR, and this was years before DVR's existed.

Holy would've KO'd Douglas, but the fight would last longer. Holyfield' counterpunching skills was all wrong for James, who would eventually get caught and stopped.

I think Bowe vs. Tyson might have looked a bit like Tyson vs. Ruddock, I think Bowe is a little better than Razor, but realistically I assume we are going to be facing a best Tyson, and against that version of Mike, he will not do any better than Razor did.
Might go the distance, and Bowe will certainly land some shots, but I can't see him winning.

Hide was too fast for Bowe and was initially giving him a boxing lesson - Hide then hurt Bowe and went in for the kill and stupidly ended up trading with Bowe - Hides chin was suspect at the best of times and he basically was knocked all over ring from that point - - - -
If Hide had remained focussed and kept on just picking Bowe off, he may well have stopped him.

Bowe's management wanted the fight in the 1990's. I think Tyson was made for Bowe at least in the 1990's

You mean like the five year period over which they had their respective five matches with Holyfield? Yeah. Probably.

    We are talking primes, though.

Or even the early 90's - Tyson of Tillman/Stewart/Ruddock I & II versus Bowe of Thomas/Cooper/Morrison/Biggs/Tubbs. You still go with Bowe?

    Two words.

    Dream on.

Please let us get one thing clear. Between early 86, and late 88, Mike Tyson was exceptionally good at beating the **** out of, old men, junkies, alcoholics, a former Light Heavy, and B level fighters. That is NOT up for discussion. Then he was challenged by meaningful opposition. The rest is well documented.

    Goodnight.

That was a fairly articulate post, which part did you find to be poorly reasoned out?

You know this is an extremist and inflammatory view, right? This isn't your actual opinion.

yes of course, Tyson feasted on bums such as Tubbs, Mathis, Seldon, Golota, Thomas, Biggs

and Bowe fought an amazing array of fighters such as Tubbs, Mathis, Seldon, Golota, Thomas, Biggs.

and of course Tyson should be penalised for disposing of each one of those quicker and better than Bowe did.

then again, outside of Holyfield....who did Bowe actually beat?
